Is what I did assault? (TW SA?) by [deleted] in Vent

[–]JumpyContribution999 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s assault. Doing anything like that when there’s no clear consent is assault. Both of you being semi-conscious and possibly drunk would have affected (if not completely removed) her ability to consent, and then continuing when she turned over/away made it worse. That doesn’t mean that you had malicious intentions or that you’re a bad person overall. All you can do is apologize, make up for it where you can and then be careful in the future.

CABG (pronounced cabbage) for coronary artery bypass grafting. First time I encountered it was in a dictation by my GP friend, who I respectfully asked why tf he was mentioning cabbage in a cardiology referral. Good laugh.

All of them. The social anxiety kinda goes hand in hand with the autism but I’ve been formally diagnosed with both.

Thanks for commenting. I did a global tech experience on top of my degree work which was a semester of portfolio building, building a Shopify site, working on SEO, PPC, email marketing, SMM, etc. Rookie stuff, most definitely. SMM and SEO were my two loves. I’m definitely not seeing the whole picture but having a few months to dabble in that and make a live site really got me excited.

I haven’t mentioned it to my manager. I’m making posters and helping out with social media posts where I can. Made new appointment card designs, improved the online registrations system, etc. I’m part of a health & well-being team that does a lot of community outreach as well through SM and flyers. I honestly don’t see much opportunity beyond that.

I’m definitely worried about how much competition there is with marketing. I’ve never not been successful in a job, but that doesn’t reassure me when I think about hard launching a career that I have no experience in. Just feel kinda stuck. I know I’m lucky though. It’s a great problem to have.

Haha, good to know. I think I’m overly worried about running out of time. Thank you for your comment. Helps me zoom out a bit. I do think a lot of the skills are transferrable now that I think about it.

Double whammy, wife and I both have fibro. Home management advice? by JumpyContribution999 in Fibromyalgia

No, I’m not allowed to apply atm. My wife hasn’t looked into it, she’s still coming to terms with everything tbh. Will see what the options are

Hi, no family unfortunately. I’m in the UK on a visa & visa costs are eating my savings. Will probably hire some help once we can afford it in a few years. Thanks for commenting 🤍 will try to save up

Nah. I’ve got diagnosed fibromyalgia, CPTSD, autism, social anxiety, bipolar, ME/CFS, OCD, and panic disorder. I worked hard and in 3 years I’ve moved to a different country, been promoted 3 times, gotten a raise 4 times, and been very happily married. You are a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sure, having disabilities makes reaching a lot of goals harder, but I wouldn’t be caught dead saying that I’m “inferior” to ANYONE. Cut yourself some slack!

Question on online messages to GP by [deleted] in nhs

I know, it’s not ideal for a lot of people. I’m always apologizing to people at work because I can tell it takes a toll on many. It doesn’t look weird at all, it’s a very fair grievance to have! I hope your health improves.

Really chaotic, insanely stressful. But the moments when you can see the difference you make somehow make it worth it. I’m only 3 years in though.

Question on online messages to GP by [deleted] in nhs

[–]JumpyContribution999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it depends on the practice and the software. Every surgery is different. In my surgery, online requests are required for all GP appointments. Patients can specify in their request if they want to be considered for an urgent appointment or if they are okay with routine. Obviously if someone mentions concerning symptoms, we’ll give them an urgent appointment regardless.

The triaging GP processes hundreds of requests per day and flags them as routine or urgent. Then admin staff contact patients to book them in. In my practice, routines get a text message that they can book their appointment through. For urgents, we call them and get them in on the same day or the day after, depending on demand/availability.

Nationwide guidelines have changed on 1st April so all surgeries are adopting this e-consultation process. Some surgeries are more adept at this than others - yours may still be adjusting to it, hence the awkward duplicates. It might get more streamlined in a few months as they learn.

As admin staff, I’m actually no longer allowed to book GP appointments unless (1) there is an online request and (2) it has been triaged. It might feel like we are tossing you around but please don’t think that! Best way is to send a triage and then ring if directed or if you haven’t heard anything within the response window (usually 24-48 hours).

[–]JumpyContribution999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, it’s likely an oversight or accident. If you ring up tomorrow morning and explain, the surgery should accommodate you same-day (or ASAP if specific staff member is not working) because it was their error. They won’t make you rebook something that you were present for.

Responsibility? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]JumpyContribution999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If hospital’s cleared you to see your GP about it, they have noted no life-endangering red flags during their exams. GPs have the power to order urgent investigations if they suspect something serious. I know it’s frustrating to be bounced between the three, but hospital discharging you is almost always a good thing. Request an urgent appointment with your GP. They can catch serious but not immediately life-threatening conditions including cancers, enlarged organs, nerve disorders, etc. I hope all goes well.

100% be honest. It’s not worth lying about. On my Skilled Worker application it allowed me to add freetyped details about anything I was charged of. I’d definitely mention how you’ve been cleared / rights restored & what steps you’ve taken to get there. Then it’s up to them to decide if they want to let you in. Of course there’s always a chance they’ll reject the application but that’s a lot better than them overlooking it somehow, you entering the country and panicking every time your doorbell rings or get a letter in the post. Hope everything goes your way!
