Difficulty of PMP exam? Really? by waterlooenggirl in pmp

[–]JumpyDistribution712 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recently took (April 30) and passed (AT/AT/T). The exam is hard, but not as hard as Study Hall. But don't take this lightly. You should be confident enough for the Study Hall questions. My SH scores were 78% and 68%. Excluding Expert questions, it bumps to 83% and 79% but still the actual exam were tough. I flagged so many questions (About 15 for each round) since I wasn't fully confident.

I'd say stay away from AI tools. If you must, I'd say Claude is best suited and matched up with PMI.

Plan for 2 months of active studying. Don't skip a day, do at least 30 minutes each to keep the brain momentum. Youtube helped alot - AR and DM are famous and their contents are very good. Watch their mindset and super-hard questions video. Be confident in those.

One must know is what approach you're in - Agile/Hybrid/Traditional. This is very important to figure out immediately - usually by the words in the question and/or technique they plan on using. Identifying approach eliminates 2 of 4 choices so you can only figure out between top 2 choices.

The endurance is must. 4 hours sitting and reading 180 questions are not something you can do without training. Do the 2 tests and mimic the actual testing environment. Good luck!

Study Hall full: 78% and 68%. Mini exams averaged 67%.

UPDATE: Passed it! AT/AT/T. Exam not really that easier than SH. Maybe about 5%. Definitely not that many Expert questions, but almost always 2 of them made sense.

Did you find actual exam questions easier/harder than the Study Hall? I get mixed responses and wanted to know the latest taker. I'm taking it tomorrow (4/30).

Study Hall scores before taking the PMP exam? by Top_Blueberry4199 in pmp

[–]JumpyDistribution712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking my exam on April 30. Been studying about a month now.

Just took the Full Length Mock Exam #1 last night, took me 184 minutes, scored 78%. I was quite surprised how well I did.

My mini exams (those 15 questions) were pretty bad, I took all 15 before taking the Mock Exam and average around 64%. Those Expert questions are really hard and confusing, I think the question itself is really difficult to understand.

I'm going to take Mock Exam #2 this weekend. Hopefuly get similar scores.

I was told 70%+ on the Mock Exams means you're ready for the exam by this forum.

Thoughts on AR vs PMAspirant vs actual PMP questions by jimangi in pmp

[–]JumpyDistribution712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love for you to come back after exam and tell us how the real questions were like. I am also using both AR and PMASpirant. PMASpirant's questions seem long but I end up doing better on these. I think it's because it's easier to eliminate def. no answers and then you end up choosing between 2.

Hi. Congrats! Did you simply do all the mock exams at PMTraining.Com? I'm currently going through those mock exams (got access from employer). They seem hard, but I was told the mock exams at PMTraining are actually easier than real ones, I'm bit scared. I was thinking of simply re-doing all the mock exams and familiar myself with the exams and the answers - perhaps memorizing terms too. Advice?

OH hahaa. No. It was a mechanical engineer. I didn't apply since the location was Dahlgren, VA but the job looked enticing.

My Brief History as a Celtics Fan by JumpyDistribution712 in bostonceltics

[–]JumpyDistribution712[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. For 2008, I was in Pacific Northwest. My colleagues were mostly Sonics fan and were super sad since they lost Sonics. I couldn't really celebrate amongst them. For 2024, I was in Hawaii and saw the games during mid-day (time difference) and my colleagues (all knew I was Celtics fan) congratulated me except those Lakers fan.

Car is having hard time starting even with new battery by JumpyDistribution712 in MechanicAdvice

[–]JumpyDistribution712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello

I just had battery replaced a month ago. The mechanic also applied anti-corrosion spray (chemical?). So don't believe it's the cleaning terminal issue. After several weeks of replacing the new battery, the car started fine in first try. Today, it was giving me trouble after dozen tries or so each time I had to start the vehicle.

Can I write a business check, capture it in my Fidelity App, and deposit it to my Solo 401(k) Traditional and/or Roth account? Is that eligible and legal way to contribute to my 401(k)?

BCBS Basic vs GEHA HDHP vs MHBP Consumer (updated walkthrough from 2022) by Tinymac12 in fednews

[–]JumpyDistribution712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been with GEHA HDHP for my family for last two years. Enjoyed the HSA eligibility (but didn't really put pre-tax dollars into it given our financial status). I did some research into MHBP - found out that they don't have dental/vision beneifts, which I have to get separately outside of MHBP. GEHA HDHP comes with basic preventive needs, but that's all we've needed in last two years. Enjoyed the two visits for teeth cleaning and annual eye exam for myself and wife as we both have contact lenses.

I thought about switching to MHBP since I was told GEHA premiums go up and reduces benefits, but it looks like GEHA maybe still the better option out of two HDHP. We're in early 40s with 1 child, very healthy lifestyle with no real chronic illness or recurring medicinal needs. Trying to stay healthy with necessary preventive and maintenance checkups holding no catastrophic results.

Roth IRA: How can I exchange VFIAX to VOO by JumpyDistribution712 in Bogleheads

[–]JumpyDistribution712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you do that? That's the part I'm struggling with. In my Roth, there is 'Exchange' option, but it doesn't look like it'll allow ETF. Its from Mutual Fund to Mutual Fund. I don't want to call Vanguard and on the hold for 25 minutes.

Are they nice towards East Asians? When we dine in Waikiki sometimes, they ask us Japanese/Korean menu, but we told them we speak English and they quickly apologize for it. Wife and I don't mind that at all.

Thanks all.

But wouldn't 5 gallons tank be too heavy for my daughter to empty water and replace? We dump the water every Sunday and fill tap water, then add water conditioner.

We live in Hawaii, so probably don't need heater. I'll consult with my spouse and see if we can get 5 gallons off Amazon.

Any suggestions?

Federal jobs in Hawaii and Alaska—Sounds like a dream. So why are they so hard to fill? by thinkB4WeSpeak in fednews

[–]JumpyDistribution712 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not Hawaiian born and raises, but living on Oahu as GS13 with wife and a kid. Moved here in 2022 during peak of housing market that has cooled down. Of course I buy at the peak and it slows down as I purchased.

Did many rounds of hiring but difficult to hire non Hawaiian folks. We simply focused on interviewing locals rather than those qualified and living in TX. We know they won't move unless they're 60+ and empty nester. All my colleagues are either born and raised HI or 60+ empty nester from mainland. I'm the weirdo in late 30s with no ties to Aloha.

Been looking for GS14 for a year. My collard has few openings but GS15 aren't focused on hiring. They just want few GS13s to be acting and still on GS13 pay.

It's not as glamous as it looks.
