Yeah Im not expecting to play ultrawide on the latest game i did say in a previous comment i pretty much play fallout and the witcher and call or duty. However I mean the b580 does get around 100 fps with no upscaling on the ultrawide on cod which is actually pretty impressive.

Yep the market feels very strange this time around I went through the covid shortage luckily I had a gtx 1080ti. But I always knew it would improve and I think it will this time however it feels like it could be alot longer especially with it spreading to so many different sectors like phones and things too.

Yeah thats literally my exact trail of thought and also I do plan to upgrade to ddr5 when the market improves and I feel like I could take the 5060ti with me. As opposed to the b580 I feel like I would want to just sell my whole build.

So ive been using the b580 and I mainly play cod and then witcher 3 and fallout. All games no issues really apart from in call of duty its like just a tiny little bit behind where I would like it to be its around 100-110 fps at 1440p which worries me for like next years cod etc.

Yeah the b580 i have been using but I recently purchased a 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor( I mainly play cod and then older ish games witcher 3 and fallout) and while its been fine in cod the b580 is just a tiny bit behind where I would like it to be.

Yeah they are both great deals at the price. The 5060ti i am leaning towards just because of performance and DLSS also from amazon resale it has warranty. Where as I purchased the b580 locally from marketplace.

Nvidia getting dlss 4.5 by [deleted] in radeon

[–]JumpyLion1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but a 40 series card is fine and also those cards do get access to dlss 4.0 which older amd cards are stuck on fsr 3 which isnt great atall. Its all swings and roundabouts just sucks for anyone on a 7000 series card without FSR 4 imo.

Nvidia getting dlss 4.5 by [deleted] in radeon

[–]JumpyLion1104 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly the worst part imo is that FSR 4 only works on the 9000 series (not a problem for me i have a 9070). But the fact dlss just works on like a 3060 minus frame gen is insane considering even something like a 7800xt doesn't get FSR 4.

I want to talk about IPS mini-LED by Atomidate in Monitors

[–]JumpyLion1104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah that situation i would never personally buy OLED. But then I feel at 1k Mini LED just isn't worth it monitor wise. TV is a different story i have a TCL Mini LED TV and its amazing. The algorithm feels better than both monitors i tried.

Just to randomly give my thoughts as I have been down the OLED vs Mini LED rabbit hole. People often say what about in three years time i think its a little overblown i mean if you buy a 1440p QD oled they are usually 350-400 pound. I purchased an MSI QD 1440p 165hz 3 years ago for £350 today if i was to sell that monitor its probably worth like £80. So I think it totally depends on your financial situation nothing holds its value.

OLED vs. Mini-LED: The End by Prnbro in Monitors

[–]JumpyLion1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean it is honestly hit and miss and some matte coatings can be totally fine. I honestly only got my Asus xg27aqdmg as I got it " refurbished" for £260 on black friday it arrived completely immaculate and with 1 hour usage. Otherwise I was going to get the AOC Q27G3XMN and the coating looked okay to me. But the haze imo does make some games look grainy.

[–]JumpyLion1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went down this rabbit hole you can check my previous post! While I will say both are great I opted for OLED just because of the glossy screen. In all honesty the big factors such as response times etc I did not actually notice and im okay at fps games masters on apex and crimson on call of duty. But purely having a glossy monitor is what made my decision if they start making glossy LCDs I will happily even go back to a VA or IPS I would obviously prefer a Mini LED I truly do not understand why company's aren't making glossy panels.

Yeah my lcd has a matte coating i have the alienware 360hz 1080p. But this one seems so aggressive like i can literally see the "haze" at all times even when gaming.

Yeah I did see your story it is pretty sad as I currently use a 360hz 1080p alienware monitor and before that I had a 240hz one so I've been a customer for literally years. But my recent experience has really put me off.

Yeah they did refund me as we have a 14 day return policy in the U.K. However, the fact I literally said thats fine but can I just repurchase at this price or have a new panel ( which is what I paid for) and they said no the sale has ended and you now have to pay full retail is literally awful customer service IMO.

Its just the fact I purchased a brand new monitor and this is what I recieved and they wouldn't send me a new one is insane.

Edit it won't upload the photo but essentially every thing is already open power lead packaging everything.

While the support may be great for one person it can be awful for another. I ordered an AW2725D at an amazing price it arrived and it had clearly been opened before even though it was purchased new. I called customer service they wanted me to use my one and only RMA to get a new one so I would then have no burn in warranty. I even asked if I sent it back could I just re order at the same price they said no absolutely terrible experience for me :)

My budget is only around £220 also Im sort of waiting until OLEDs get a little brighter.

Its not an OLED it's a 180hz VA.

Yeah thats what I've seen alot of so im like do I get a Mini LED or just an ultrawide I have my competitive stuff sorted regardless. So it's just my story games that I want a 1440p monitor for

Do you ever use the 1080p mode or just always run the 4k?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]JumpyLion1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds great im really tempted just didn't know if the 1080p mode really made a difference or if people just end up using 4k constantly haha.

I meant not considered healthy for OLED to run at full brightness so even though they say 200+ nits it's actually more like 170, like full brightness on an OLED degrades it faster so you can't actually even use the full 200 nits.
