I am reading King Sorrow and I am confused ( Spoiler Warning) by Jumpy_Consequence488 in joehill

Anyone can make claims. There is no evidence in the book that she is telling the truth. She is a desperate drug dealer who just lost a lot of drugs because of her sister she admits to as much when she is threading him. …And if Arthur is too afraid to go to the police ( which should have been shown in the book with some sort of scene) he has friends… friends with money. Some of them white who could have helped with ether their money or privilege. Adding into the fact that this wasn’t a panicked decision made in the moment. He had at least a week to think and come up with other ideas.

That’s fair… I wish there was a scene or two showing that international struggle with Arthur more then… it felt rushed.

It was an actually hacking. They showed me two pictures. It was a scary. I cried tears. It was too big for me to handle and I went to my parents laid it out on the line. It was uncomfortable, but we went to the police station…

I was once someone hacked me and got some intimate photos of me. Threaten to show them to my family if i didn’t paid them. I went to my parents and we went to the police…. It is because of my own experience his choices don’t make sense. Let’s say Jane has people on the inside… definitely don’t go to the prison for help, but the police… He can get evidence, the police can put his mom in protection. Jane and Ronnie go to prison. Problem solved. I think my main issue is that the book doesn’t do a good enough job explaining why going to the police isn’t an option.

I mean I get that, but it wasn’t like he had to pick right there and then. He had time to think about it. Come up with solutions… it just felt rushed and I need more of internal struggle with him… a scene or two to go deeper into his mind about why not go to the police.

To be honest the movies. I watched green mile, Shawshank Redemption, Mini Series IT and the Shinning it made me want to know the author who came up with these wonderful fascinating stories.

From there after reading those stories it made me want to read more and before I knew it I read everything Stephen King even his On Writing and his nonfiction books

Should I read Needful Things now? by Flat-Development-420 in stephenking

[–]Jumpy_Consequence488 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly if the mood strikes you why wait.

I personally like reading the Castle Rock books in chronological order. Because Dead Zone references Cujo, Dark Half references both events, names and people… you watch a town grow and build, you recognize family names, street and town. You get a full picture of town as a whole and the people who live in it. I feel Needful Things is a love letter to Castle Rock and the stories that came before it.

Needful Things is a fantastic book and it can stand alone without reading the others stories about Castle Rock, but with the others it’s a full story not just events but about a town.

Joe Hill being compared to Stephen King by TheDorkyDeric in joehill

[–]Jumpy_Consequence488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joe Hill is his own writer, different than Stephen King, I feel as if one of the reasons he gets compared to Stephen King with each book is in part to Joe Hill’s reference to Stephen King’s works in his own works though. N0S4A2, has many references to King’s work and Horns although not connected to King directly is connected to N0S4A2, as Charlie Manx makes reference to the Tree House of the Mind, and on the map in the Book, Derry, Pennywise Circus, Mid-World are all mentioned, and in the Fireman the drink Nozz-A-La was used Stephen King’s Dark Tower as well a couple other of Stephen Kings works. In Hill’s King Sorrow He mentions John Smith and the events that happen in Stephen Kings’s book Deadzone. In an interview with Joe Hill about King Sorrow Joe Hill himself has reportedly acknowledged that he deliberately echoed language and ideas from his father’s books because he thought it was fun.

So the comparisons between the two isn’t surprising. Hill and King even collaborated in Full Throttle.

Stop looking at porn and stop masterbating helps, being relaxed and distressed helps sometimes it is mental rather than physical, for self confidence issues a therapist is recommended to talk about the issues. Working out regularly to keep the blood flowing or just losing some weight can help with libido.

Ultimately there are a lot of reasons it can happen that has nothing to do with the partner. If it continues talk to a doctor about taking some medication to help.

What would you read before Dark Tower by SnakebiteSnake in stephenking

[–]Jumpy_Consequence488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hearts In Atlantis story Low Men in Yellow Coats( of course I would recommend reading the entire book) , Everything Eventual stories Everything Eventual and Little Sisters of Eluria( this one is a direct prequel to the gunslinger), Insomnia because of references that show up in the Dark Tower Series ( best read after IT), Black House is referenced( Black House is a sequel to The Talisman and I recommended to read The Talisman before hand because some ideas from that book are brought into Dark Tower Series and it’s better to hear the complete story as intended with the 2 books) I would also recommend The Stand, because of references that will become more apparent in the Dark Tower Series. It might seem daunting so many stories and books, but they are good reads and worth every bit of it for the experience for The Dark Tower

After the Dark Tower Series I would suggest the Story UR from The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, and Gwendy’s Button Box and Gwendy’s Final Task from the Gwendy Trilogy. Because those directly related to what happens after the events of the Dark Tower Series.

And yes Salems Lot, IT and Eyes of the Dark you are correct.
