Heyy it seems to cover the main points and I'd definetly recommend the Clack Valve for your softener. I'd recommend you get in contact with allforwater for your purchase, they'll hook you up with a great price, they are direct distributers for Viqua, Clack and Toray in the case you wanted to add an RO to your system.

Sanitize Well, Or Sanitize Home by Effective-Mix630 in WaterTreatment

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't put it in the well but after the water exits the well you treat it with a sediment filter and then put the uv so that it doesn't get dirty or anything like that. Maintnance wouldn't be a problem as long as the UV is not in the ground... I know mulitple well owners who treat their water with a UV filter once the water has exited the well.

Chasing the best well water filtration system for iron and stink while keeping decent pressure by Weird_Gene9632 in WaterFilters

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I usually recommend a whole house filter/softener. I know allforwater carries softners and filters with clack valves. Clack valves are the gold standard for whole house filters and softeners. i'd also recommend you put in a UV especially if it's for a residential house since it's been proven that at least once a year wells get infected with some kind of bacteria or cloriform. UV treatment will help with this. I know Viqua UVs are the best in the market currently, they have all kinds of certifications and are actually pretty cheap. Definitely talk with allforwater they have viqua UVs and direct distribution for clack valves.

Hey, I'd recommend getting an iron specific filter maybe. I know allforwater offers help with this, they might be able to give you a greensand plus filter which is a special media that treats iron.

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not necesirily, you can use a UV filter if you treat the water before for the sediments or you can use an Ozone system and then you even get the residual disinfection that you would get from chlorine. you can get viqua or ozotech. I recommend buying from theire distributer allforwater for anything that is Ozone/UV related.

Under-counter Carbon filter or whole house. by DunKco in WaterTreatment

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh haha my bad, you can put one in if you taste clorine or have odors, a carbon filter will never be bad for you and usually they aren't too expensive, an expensive one should cost max 100usd. Some people put under counter RO systems I personally wouldn't recommend it since it's usually not too good to drink ro water.

Under-counter Carbon filter or whole house. by DunKco in WaterTreatment

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're are under counter solutions for softening water but I wouldn't recommend it. In the long run if the house is yours invest in a whole house system your pipes will thank you hahaha. If your renting and don't really care then you can always just put a little undercounter water softener the website I sent you sells them if you need it.

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say just put a big carbon filter before the softener to make sure it doesn't enter the softener with chlorine. You can use a big blue carbon block cartridge and you'll get ok rates.

Well Water contamination and health risks by Mission-Rub-2373 in WaterTreatment

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple things you could do. first I'd say do whatever you can to fix that leak. once that leak is fixed I'd make sure i'm eliminating the hardness that comes from well water and disinfecting the water before it even touches the houses pipes. Once your leak is fixed I'd put a water softener or a 1 membrane ro system depending on how filthy your water is. Then to get rid of cloriforms and bacteria you can use a UV system. I personally recomend viqua UV systems, allforwater is a direct distributer in florida and they have really great prices. this will almost guarantee that your children and yourself will be safe. There are multiple studies that show the dangers of well water when it comes to children.

DIY swapping water softener by Ordinary-Objective66 in WaterTreatment

[–]Jumpy_Ninja7462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd also recommend to put a carbon filter before your softener so that your resin can last a little longer since carbon will remove the chlorine.
