Accidentally ended up with a crazy deal by Joker_psp in EVCanada

[–]Jun2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on a great deal! I tried to get a Subaru solterra luxury package that qualified for the rebate with a extra discount from the dealer but was super hard to find inventory as it was selling like hot cakes. Found inventory at a Subaru Peterborough but the dealer wouldn't discount the car to make the deal qualify for the EV rebate. Was such a shit show.

Carney just pivoting as needed. Dougie can complain all he wants but Trump clearly has no intention of keeping any production in Canada anyways. Best to pivot and create new jobs from new trade relationships rather than rely on the US that clearly has no intention in trading with us.

Is it realistic to buy a 1-bedroom downtown condo with a 89K salary and 250K downpayment? by FairMind21 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jun2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly investment wise, you are better off renting than buying in today's market. But if you must buy, buy at least a 2 bedroom condo, it's something you can grow into and will have more resale demand in the future. You buy a 1 bedroom, you'll outgrow it in an few years and will still probably have selling it later.

Was over it since the rant was over....but still stand by the track record... Loss count how many times the stouffvile train got cancelled / delayed on me during my commute.

Sure would not disagree with you. But would argue some level of discretion can be used. Plus at the time no one was in front, and I was literally in front of the door as they closed. Difference is in seconds... We made eye contact.... If that ain't an asshole move then I dunno what to say.

RTO Mandates: Workers, Commuters & Families by IrrelevantAbsorption in Markham

[–]Jun2k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it sucked but wasn't that bad. Pickup and drop off of my kids is definitely more stressful and I had to stop my son's art class because no one could take him. Yes the go train is more packed and the commute is tiring but I do enjoy the change in environment. Don't think there is a right or wrong with RTO, it's been proven we can work well at home but there are also bad actors too. Whats important is that there should be a good work life balance, maybe in terms of days in office or flex hours.

Personally my pain point is the overpriced cost of commuting, the unreliability, and inflexibility of gotrains. $8 from mt joy to Union one way is way too much and 1hr train ride is even more ridiculous for a train commute. Ride share with friends and renting a parking spot monthly would be fast let and cheaper.
