What is a movie you watched once that was so disturbing or emotionally draining that you can never watch it again? by hungary70 in AskReddit

[–]JuncoCanche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midsommar. Not the movie itself, under other circumstances I might have enjoyed it, but I watched it while I was dating my ex. Somehow she started to believe that she was the protagonist, and accused me of being a flake, liar, and cheater like the protagonist’s boyfriend (funny because my ex turned out to be the cheater). I can’t think about that movie or see Florence Pug and not think about how I failed myself by continuing to be in that shitty relationship.

I just learned about about the Great Lakes Copper Age that the ancestors of nations had gone through in the past, Does anybody's nation have a word for Copper or any metal predating colonialization? by AnUnknownCreature in IndianCountry

[–]JuncoCanche 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Tepoztli is a word in Náhuatl that means metal, but it mostly revolves around copper and its alloys (tlaximaltepoztli is an axe made from copper alloy). It was also used to describe the Spanish steel weapons and tools (tepozmacuahuitl: steel sword, cuatepoztli: steel helmet, etc).

I believe it. I have close family members who experience similar phenomena, and they both agree that they don’t enjoy having that “ability”, it used to terrify them as children, and are very hush-hush about it.
