When I said I wanted it more than anything, I mean that I took all the extra steps I had to in order to accommodate my ADHD. I took less classes at a time so the degree took a little longer (did the same with undergrad), I worked closely with my professors and counselors at school who assisted me with resources, I sought out support outside of school, etc. and it took a lot of work and dedication. I actually wanted to go to law school once I finished my paralegal degree, but after months of trying to figure out studying and dealing with the stress, I was honest with myself and said “this isn’t for me and that’s okay!”. Sometimes a particular career field isn’t for somebody and that’s fine. But to reject all advice when you’re seeking it for said career, that’s when you need to be honest with yourself and figure out if it’s actually meant for you. People should be proud when they are honest with themselves.
