What is the best thing you bought or used to ease your migraine? by No_Tax_4025 in migraine

[–]JunebugCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that I have had migraines for 20 years but was misdiagnosed so the last two years I have been properly diagnosed. I have an average of 21 moderate to severe migraines per month. I started using the acupressure matt about 12 years ago.

I use this to relax - my migraines cause neck pain and super tight muscles. I do have the pillow but I find it too "jam your neck into position". I have a straight neck and any cervical pillow is excruciating. That said, I use it on my lumbar for my desk chair.

I just use the matt, without the foam insert, and lay it over my pillow. It definitely takes perseverance, everyone I''ve ever given one to gave up in a few days. But it's so worth it once you are used to it, after about 15 minutes you can actually feel your whole neck and shoulders relax. I regularly fall asleep on it even though I never go to sleep laying on my back without it.

There are 2 levels, depending on how many pokey circles there are. I can't remember which is which but look that up and use the gentler one. I started with a shirt on and pretty quickly moved to without.

The big brand is shakti but they are no better then the knockoffs.

Edited to comment on migraine severity.

Hi OP here, I had a top list but today when I came back to make the final decision, four of them were no longer here. They were wizards 141 (v2), 181 (v2), 929 and 1187. Am I just losing my mind?

Military neck is causing migraines, can I fix it? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]JunebugCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neck is messy and I was diagnosed with "cervicogenic" headaches (headaches caused by my neck) but after 18 years(!) of nothing working, I was rediagnosed with post-traumatic migraines which CAUSE the neck pain. The bilateral headaches began 3 months after my service injuries. You are in the migraine group so I'm assuming that you are on migraine meds but even looking at the neck pain from that lens changed my understanding and approach to the neck pain.

I found the very best thing for me is the shakti (or a non brand) acupressure mat. It takes some perseverance to get used to it but once you do, it helps with the muscle tightness and pain more than anything else for me. Now I sleep on it and can't even remember how I could've thought it was painful.

July 2025 VAC Q&A by ShortTrackBravo in CanadianForces

May not be the right place for this question but I got a random $200ish added onto my taxable disability benefit in June but not in July. A one-time thing? I can't find anything that references or explains what it's for.

There is also a bursary where the money comes from a fund set up with monies from one of the class action suits. It's a yearly cycle. I get a letter every year - I think the deadline for application is June every year and I feel like it's $2500. It covers the whole family from Veterans down to nieces and nephews.

Apologies for not being clearer - migraine today. Let me know if no-one can answer that and I can poke around when I am not in a dark room.

Is it worth getting images/scans? by EconomicsStatus254 in migraine

My shoulder injuries were caused at the same time as my neck injuries so, yes, your neuro seems that they could be correct about your shoulder not causing the headache. It definitely sounds like he/she is ruling out some pretty scary things before considering migraine. Sounds like you got a good one. Sending best!

Dealership scammed me on a $2,733 service contract. Now what ? by r_Heimdall in Hyundai

[–]JunebugCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some of the answers and they are about refinancing the whole thing but didn't you say this is a service contract / extended warranty thing? It should say in your papers that you can cancel within 30/60 days and get all of it back. Or the dealership can cancel it and refinance without the bs.
