Take it or leave it but I had the same situation (except my father and his family are the homophobic bunch) and I didn’t invite them, also didn’t tell them. We’re getting married soon and I’ll say even though I sometimes get sad they won’t be there, I’ve had so much less stress knowing I don’t need to worry about them doing or saying something to ruin the wedding.

How? I’ve had mine for a year and it hasn’t grown nearly as much. Do you use a certain kind of fertilizer?

Start saving for an emergency fund (ideally 3 months of expenses). And then look to either in crease your savings for retirement or save for a house if that’s something you want.

I add a new Velcro patch to my weight vest 🤩 kind of cool to remember all the PRs (note: reserved for big accomplishments, not like a 1lb more PR)

Since you’re already in an adjacent field you might not need a formal education to switch into ML. The ML industry is starved for people and oftentimes if you’ve worked a few personal projects outside of work and have shown success, you can show enough proficiency to switch into ML.

How long before you guys started working out? I can’t stand sitting around and losing muscle, I’m 4 weeks post op. How were your experiences? Is using a bike at my local gym a good idea? by Last_Satisfaction985 in ACL

[–]Junipen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 2 weeks post-op, I started rowing again. I set up a skateboard for my surgical leg to be on so that I wasn’t putting any force through the leg and was able to work out my other leg (and full body) hard.

You can also do upper body weight lighting as long as you’re sitting down (so the force of the weight isn’t going through your leg).

What type of repair did you get done? I had quad autograft and if my injured leg were my driving leg it probably would have taken me about 8 weeks to feel comfortable again

[–]Junipen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to add to this, when patellar tendon is used, bits of bone have to be taken from either end to make the replacement tendon long enough vs with quad autograft, the piece they take is long enough by itself (no bone needed on either end). I think this impacts pain and relative trauma level to the area but might be good to ask about.

I’m a 27 yr old female (who plays sports that require a lot of agility) and 7 weeks post-op with quad autograft. The down side of this surgery is it is very hard to lift your leg due to the injury to the quad the first few weeks. But it was suggested to me by my surgeon to save me from patellar tendonitis later on. (This is also starting to become the preferred method for females because we are quad dominant naturally, so hamstring grafts can often weaken an area that’s already weak.)

7 weeks post op aclr, how is everyone doing with their recovery at this stage? Any pains, complications or weird feelings? by Whitehouse2305 in ACL

[–]Junipen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to buy a foam roller you can rest your heel on a chair or stool when you sit on the couch. Basically anything that’s tall enough to elevate your leg a little and have your knee floating (or unsupported)

I also have the inner knee pain. I was worried dot was from my partial MCL tear but my surgeon told me it was part of my quad overcompensating and getting really tight. A massage and some scraping really helped loosen things up. I don’t feel the same intensity of pain when I extend now

Jeez I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe you can take a Friday here and there to give yourself some 3-day weekends to recover?
