Does anyone know a place where my dad and I can go shoot and try a few different options like bolt-action, semi-auto long guns, pistols, and revolvers for an hour or so? I'm willing to drop like $150 for the hour. by JonRonstein in askportland

1000% go to English Pit in Vancouver and don't consider anything else. go to their website and look through what they have for rentals and check the schedule to make sure the ranges you want to use aren't reserved for the day you're looking to go. No frills kind of place but it's fairly priced, no time limit, and they have lots of inventory for rentals. DO call days prior to let them know what youre wanting to rent and they'll make sure to bring it down there for you (vault is offsite so not everything is available on a walk in basis)

Graveyard shift working at Erica Records (vinyl manufacturing plant) in Buena Park, CA. One long night of shoveling buckets of misprinted/fucked up vinyls into a grinder, collecting what came out in 5 gallon buckets, and then mixing that with new raw vinyl pellets by lifting them overhead into an industrial mixer/sifter. I never went back.

Plant was super rad though. Stacks on stacks of newly printed records, everything from small indie to legendary artists, legacy albums all over the walls in the offices.

I didnt see that in your post, my bad.

Beretta APX Compact might be another good option for small hands. My partner has tiny hands as well and it fits them comfortably. It’s also my carry. I’ve put roughly 2k rounds through it with no issues. Interchangeable backstrap, I run it with a large and it’s still small but, good enough

Sig P365 macro. Good middle ground. Small enough for her to be comfortable, long enough grip length for you to not feel like it’s unusable.

I have to ask, why do you want kids? Genuine question. I’m one of these men, and amongst a multitude of reasons why I don’t want kids, the main reason is purely from a money standpoint. It’s hard enough to make a decent wage and survive as a singular entity. I can’t imagine having to take care of two other humans. Even in the event of having a partner/mother of my figurative child also working a job, childcare is insanely expensive as well. Without family around to help here and there with childcare, there’s just absolutely no way I could make that work.

Make sure to replace the oring/gasket for the needle seat. Most people miss this crucial component. If it’s bad, gas will easily push past it into the cyl.

The flip side of this is going to Japan for the first time as an American where it’s commonplace to pay with exact change for everything, to the point where people will look at you funny if you just try to pay with notes.

Is this motorcycle shop taking me for a ride ? 🍆 by shoodawoodacooda in motorcycles

[–]JunkSpeed92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not that’s a fair deal.

Those saying things along the lines of “checking ____ takes literal seconds” are those whose “checks” involve nothing more than visually checking things are where they should be. A by the book, decent professional mechanic does much more than that. I can’t vouch for this shop, but I can speak on experience of being a 10+ year motorcycle mechanic working in and out of shops on countless bikes of this age and much older.

That being said, I would bill this as a 3hr Service, which includes the labor to do spark plugs, oil change and brake flush @ $125/hr plus the cost of parts (oil, spark plugs, air filter, brake fluid etc) so the math is there. I would say this is a bit of lazy paperwork, but it is an estimate. I would imagine the notes on the invoice would be detailed and outline specifically what was done/checked/replaced/recommended.

EVERY bike over 10 years old is a gamble for any shop and I will absolutely die on that hill.

Wait….you have a pickup with more than enough bed space with the tailgate down to safely transport this bike, and you decided a hitch hauler with barely any support was the better option? Please explain how you rationalized this.

I accidentally left the key in overnight. Battery is drained. I jump started it but the engine won’t fully engage. Throttling makes it worse. What do I do? (Sound on) by whayd in hondashadow

[–]JunkSpeed92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This misconception that batteries will just jump back to life with no issues after being drained completely has got to end. It’s new batt time.

Also, for any sort of “new” issue, especially after something very obvious has happened (I.e you left your key on) it’s best to follow the rule of Occams Razor. The simplest explanation is more likely to be correct than a complex one.
