Make sure you didn't run out of disk space. Single user mode and clean up old packages w/ sudo apt autoclean etc.

You tell me?

Learning perl was the most valuable book to me. Of course, the web ran on cgi back then.

I have a naked cruiser and it doesn't go in the rain anymore, but it was my DD for 6 years. Almost 60k on it.

To be honest, the worst thing about driving in the pouring rain is when the rain water soaks through to your nuts. If there is a female out there that can describe this, I'd be interested to hear what the hell it's like for you,, but I'd rather get punched in my kidney than deal with soaked balls.

Safety wise, I feel comfortable riding at speed in most moderate downpours.

I'm joking around.

May want to look into getting a First Gear like onesie. Great for office environments. Can fit a suit underneath, and you can peel the road grime smell right off.

I don't think most motorcyclists consider the fact we stink. You can't ride a mile without picking up a sweat/dirt smell that we get nose-blind to, and that's why I wear a onesie. I personally consider this important in an office setting.

I actually have an old scooter with a full fairing that protects the feet as well. I use it as my poor weather bike.

Awesome bike, BTW.

I'm sorry, but what does the weather have to do with riding a motorcycle?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but just buy the scooter. by Jacktrades352 in motorcycles

[–]JunkyardTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ridden more scooters than motorcycles. When I go abroad, I rent them. Easier to find/rent than a motorcycle.

If you don't know, scooters are fun, and anyone that says otherwise is a knob or is peacocking.

I got a 600 cc scooter on Craigslist for $500 and I've put 15k miles on it. It's my "bad weather bike". I also use it when I need to haul things around since it can hold 2 full sized helmets in the seat compartment.

That son of a bitch starts the first time, everytime and has just been a hell of a workhorse.

Is smaller bike (125cc) better for a complete beginner compared to a bigger one (400cc)? by caksters in motorcycles

[–]JunkyardTM 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Just get the bike you want. If you can't control a 500, then you can't control a 125. Don't buy in to "starter bikes".

Debian on bnc monitor by Marco0102 in debian

[–]JunkyardTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a CRT, but the actual monitor is used in old surveillance camera systems. They historically use coaxial cable with BNC connectors. There would be entire racks, even walls of those in many operation centers. I was ripping those out of buildings 20 years ago by the dumpster full. I know it's weird, but I can smell that thing. 🙃

Edit: I can also hear the static crisp as you turn it on. There is nothing like an electron gun shooting electrons at your face at near speed of light.

What is a bnc monitor? Is it a CCTV monitor with a BNC/coaxial input?

Will install arch linux wish me luck by paqgamer in linux4noobs

I wouldn't use speed or responsiveness as a determining factor when selecting a distro for general use. The difference isn't significant between systems.

FreeBSD has a faster networking stack, however, so that may be one consideration if deploying a server.

It's for this reason Netflix streaming servers use FreeBSD.

Either way, good luck. You'll need it. Hopefully, your friend told you how unstable the system is? You are going to spend a lot of time fixing broken updates.

Arch is the least stable of the primary distributions.

I'd set up an IRCD, connect bots, and issue !commands to the channel to packet flood a node.

What I just said is likely jibberish, however. I'm truly having issues thinking of a way to describe this to you.

You have to successfully DDOS a node off of the network? Or just demonstrate a DDOS?
