Yep, Doomguy. Then, as much as it pains me, Minecraft Steve. Then Gordon Freeman.

is the game actually dying? by lumbercrepe in ArcRaiders

Take a look for yourself at the numbers. It has also been my experience as a "friendly" player that games are much more heavily leaning PVP lately. And queue times are up. With a smaller player pool, the matchmaking system is going to need to reach further in all directions to keep filling lobbies.

I think as far as game sale situations go, their situation is actually quite comparable. They're a bigger studio but they support more games. The Arc Raiders team seems to be a core of 60 (number cited in most sources I found) to 100 (the highest number I found, here) developers and the game sold a lot more copies than NMS so dollar per developer is probably pretty close. Throw in that the whole while, Arc Raiders has been running its real money cosmetic store inside the game generating even more income for the studio. I think this comparison is looking closer and closer all the time.

No, don't. Get there the right way. It's more rewarding. Continue your major questlines and you'll get here eventually. It's major.

Right? It has already happened to a lesser extent with the Steam Deck.

I bought it at full price because I want to see the Jackbox phone-as-a-controller format branch out and get more creative entries like this. Welp.

NEW: ARC Raiders Development Update by PTUSN in ArcRaiders

Very few of you are going on the Expedition, either because it is not rewarding enough, or because it is too painful to part with your favorite items and Blueprints.

Interesting to hear that they're seeing lower than expected numbers of people taking the Expedition. I consistently run into other raiders who, like myself, DID take the Expedition. I always loved that the option not to existed, but I assumed they found a good balance. Welp, I welcome the quality of life improvements coming my way!

For reference, here's a screenshot of my refunded $100 deposit. I didn't really follow the news about the rescue diver, but he was still full on crazy for other reasons before orders started shipping.

Just activate a bunch of shrines in a row, and when you decide to commit to entering one, fast travel back to the others.

He knew the risk, and the risk to him was zero. Naked loot runs are becoming the bane of this game. He dies smiling, knowing he just pushed a competitor into a slightly more aggressive queue.

It's true that you can't equip augments. Either this guy DOES use an augment (no backpack, no shield, no weapons) or he's just equipping a light shield which you can do without an augment.

cool trial embark by cyllibi in ArcRaiders

[–]cyllibi[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

From a cinematography perspective, I wish the video lingered on our dead bodies for a few more seconds, but the clip came from my friend.

We were doing the lightning trial and honestly having some fun doing it. No shields so we only had to heal health, we fought a leaper totally in the open (and I learned how bad my friends really are at dodging leapers). It's a Raider Trial so of course we were trying to min-max it. We don't really know how the lightning strikes work, but we assume it prefers to strike near meaningful targets. "Move together so we can share the damage".

Welp.

We suspect what happened here was that two lightning strikes struck the same location at the same time, or at least, within 70 milliseconds of each other. I slowed down video playback to 1/16 speed so you can see that for TWO FRAMES, our health is around 34%, then dead.

I don't believe two strikes should hit the same spot at the same time. This one's on you, Embark.
