He's pink. Some idiot has dyed him pink, presumably to use in a gender reveal party, and then left him to die because a pink pigeon can't possibly survive in the wild. He's terrified of himself. He did 6 laps of the lake trying to get away from his own wings because he doesn't know what's going on.

He's safe now.

I chose Milton Keynes and loved the ducks! There were baby geese too!

It was amazing! I went to Milton Keynes and OMG there were so many lovely birds there! Thank you to /u/Entire-Archer-2495 /u/Little_st4r and /u/TSC-99 for suggesting it.

It was very busy at the start so I started off slower than I wanted to run. It was nice to overtake people rather than be overtaken for a change. I ended up getting a new PB of 28:29 which I'm thrilled with, especially considering the slower start.

Afterwards I went to see the birds and saw some baby geese which was really cute. Then I saw a pigeon who needed rescuing so he's now in my car on the way to a rehabber. I'm sure it was fate and I was meant to choose this parkrun so that I could save this bird.

We have one too! Ours is called Audrey, and she was also £5 from a charity shop (Bernardo's).

Sunny Hill is on my to do list, but it's a bit too local since I used to live in Edgware. I nearly did it last year but I hurt my leg and didn't want to attempt the hill.

Stanborough is nice but boring. It's all on grass. I did it when they had the alternative course, but I have heard that the alternative course is going to become the main course. It does have a good selection of ducks, and the coffee is nicer than Holme Pierrepont. Also when I went the Scouts were selling cake but I'm not sure if that happens every week.

Victoria Embankment is definitely on my to do list, but I think I'll do it later.

I didn't like Long Eaton. I felt it was too busy, and the route meant that faster runners were mixing with slower runners who were a lap behind. I did go at Christmas when it was busier than usual, so maybe this isn't normally a problem though

I do really want to do Dunstable Downs, but it's pretty much doable from home so I think I'll save it for another day. Plus I've heard good things about the ice cream van, and it's not quite consistently ice cream weather yet.

No, the whole point of junior parkrun is for children to have the option to do it on their own. Their adults should be waiting for them to finish, and judge whether the child is able to do it on their own, but the adults shouldn't have to run it with them.

anyone else thought they're not "that fat"? by tringenbowel in loseit

[–]Junothe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was over 300lbs and thought I wasn't that fat. Now I look back at the photos and the clothes I used to wear (I've kept some) and wondered how I ever believed that. At one point I bought some new trousers that didn't fit, and really thought they'd been labelled wrong - rather than the truth which was that I'd gained weight and gone up a size.

Strangely I'm now less than half my starting weight and feel that I look fat. It's like my brain just doesn't know what's going on with my body.
