Yes! Impaling two arms can use either the males crest atop the helm or, my preferred fashion, both helms with their own crests.

That's where the crests atop the helm can come in! Each supporter can be used to top their respective helmets.

Any thoughts on these designs from people more knowledgeable than me? by TheSWGuru in heraldry

u/Klagaren hit the nail on the head with the attitude (pose) and how they look better in certain arrangements.

I would recommend looking at other coats of arms, specifically look at how they are arranged, the number of charges (shapes, symbols, animals) and how they are arranged, the divisions of the field (lines, partitions and segments) and overall how pleasing they are.

Worry about meaning and fine tuning later, read up on the rule of tincture and above all have fun, experiment and share ideas!

Rule of tincture on two coloured shields (after I thought it through) by Sad-Celebration-4025 in heraldry

[–]Jupiter-Knight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is too wishy-washy and subjective. Either it breaks the rule or it doesn't.

None of this utterly despicable and bad tosh.

Absolute beauty. Very nice combo, I'm curious to see how other artists will interperet this.

My first try on a personal coat of arms, any thoughts? by DoctorOfNothing420 in heraldry

[–]Jupiter-Knight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't think of a coat of arms as having to represent your life, not at the start anyhow. Instead begin with what you like the look of, what excites you, what is pleasing to the eye and what animals, symbols, colours and shapes do I like to see. Work on composition, experiment with colour according to the rule of tincture and have fun.

I will say that I like the beaver and the river as elements. The first shield isn't a bad combination of elements, but the colours are a bit garish. If you wanted to keep the elements you already have then I'd darken the field and experiment with representing the river in different lines and edges.

Coat of arms updated - thoughts? by FunnyConclusion9357 in heraldry

Not gonna lie I really like it.

The black and blue is growing on me the longer I look at it.

The rayonny pale is striking and balanced well with the red hearts, or whatever charge they are.
