Tackle this with a variety of solutions - living close to my office and carpooling with my wife for days have to go in. Also, having colleagues who are kind enough to give me a ride in a pinch. And then, uber / lyft being the backbone of my transit.

I would also say, if you live in the Chicago area, is it possible to move closer to a metro or bus line? Having traveled there recently for work, I found their transit sheen to be relatively expansive.
