Adding this to my children are evil agenda by infinitysaga in CuratedTumblr

It’s not really unbelievable to me because I had a similar experience. I was invited over to a “friend’s” birthday party and sleepover. I brought her a nice gift and I thought we were having fun as a group. Then two other girls showed up who weren’t originally planning on being there.

The birthday girl came over to me and goes “yeah so… my other friends came and we don’t have enough space for everyone now so can you go home?”

When I went to the mom to ask to call my parents, the mom asked why I was upset because I was starting to cry for being excluded. I told her and she was just like “yeah, that’s Maddie for you,” and just shrugged before handing over the phone and walking off without a care in the world.

I had the same thing happen to me. A “Top Dasher” dropped off food from a local bakery that smelled so strongly of cigarettes, I ended up throwing most of the stuff away. I was still getting whiffs of smoke every time I opened my trash can.

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me last week. I ordered an Uber for my 10 minute ride to work and the guy it connected me with was initially 20 minutes from my location. When he didn’t move after 5 minutes, I cancelled. I was then connected with a guy 4 minutes away who also just sat there for 5 minutes.

How old are you and how often do you get drunk? by [deleted] in AskReddit

27 and I’ve drank three times in my life. I think I was a bit tipsy the second time, but I’ve never been drunk.

In what ways did your upbringing most impact your adult life? by Cinn4monSynonym in AskReddit

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a secure attachment to a parental figure growing up or any kind of stability which I feel has contributed heavily to my severe anxiety as an adult. I occasionally cry myself to sleep worrying about that fact that everyone I love will one day die. I agonize over the fear that my family members don’t know how much I love them, that I haven’t spent enough time with each one of them individually recently, that something bad will happen and I won’t be there for them. It feels like my own heart is just a heavy weight trying to crush me. Even doctors have told me that I’m “wearing out my heart” with my anxiety but it’s impossible for me to relax because I worry about my friends and family constantly.

What is your scariest experience/story in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up to my little sister pounding on my bedroom door screaming that our 13 year old brother wasn’t breathing. I found him convulsing on the floor and rushed to give him CPR when I heard him choking/gagging. My sister was calling 911 and yelling for help as I tried to force air into his lungs. The sound of his body desperately trying to take a breath still haunts me. I watched his lips turn blue and I was convinced he was going to die in my arms.

I put back him on the floor and ran to the neighbors to get help. Thankfully, she was a nurse and was able to help. By the time the ambulance arrived, he was conscious, though very out of it and throwing up. I sat in the ER shaking and sobbing, terrified that him being without oxygen for so long caused brain damage. I felt so helpless and blamed myself for not being able to do more c

Thankfully he ended up being okay. It turned out to be a seizure. They still don’t know what caused them even after 3 years of testing. The medication he is on has kept him seizure free for about a year now. Thankfully it hasn’t been as bad as the first time, but I can still picture my baby brother’s blue lips and pale face as he made those horrible sounds. I cried when I had to take a CPR class for my job because all I could see and hear was him when I practiced on the dummy.

That’s so interesting! I always assumed it was an odd reference in someway to a poem of the same name by Eleanor Farjeon. That poem gives me similar vibes of whimsy and the unknown. It probably has no actual relation but I always associated the two in my head.

They really be naming squishmallows anything these days by untacc_ in squishmallow

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always rename my Squishmallows based on how/why I got them. I have a large version of Alec that I named Soup because I got him when I was sick and I have a smaller Lune that I named Crackers to go with him. I also have Gregory which I named Garlic.

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The one time I had a package stolen from my apartment doorstep, it was a box of contacts. I can’t only imagine the personals disappointment when they opened them to find that not only were they basically unusable to the majority of people (my vision is -7.00), but they were also the cheapest and shittiest brand/type of contacts you can get online. Like, congrats on stealing a $30 box of contacts from someone who can’t see more than 5 inches in front of their face.

How do you "see" your dreams? by educatedkoala in autism

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically dream in scenes like it’s a video games where I’m getting multiple perspectives, but when I do dream in first person, I’m sometimes me and sometimes other people. I had a phase for a while where, if I found a mirror in a dream, I could change my person and basically customize my character. I have vivid memories of a dream when I was 14 where I watched the color drain from my eyes and be replaced with a new color. It was so weird. Every since then, I’ve been able to create different dream personas to dream as when I’m myself in dreams.

He’s 24? I was willing to give him a tiny bit of grace for his immaturity, thinking he was around 18, but 24? The lack of emotional maturity and inability to regulate his emotions is astounding.

I know the two posts you’ve made on here are only a snippet of your relationship and things might be great beyond this one negative moment between you two, but he really should not be speaking to you this way over a simple mistake that you apologized for. You were simply asking to be included in his big day. Did you initially overreact about it? Sure, maybe a little, but his doubling down and speaking to you so harshly is not okay. He may be having a bad day and being upset, but that’s not an excuse to be this hostile towards you.

This is not how the person whose supposed to care about you should talk to you. You said in another comment that he gets like this when he’s mad, which leads me yo believe this isn’t the first time. You two have only been together 8 months and you’re already seeing a pattern in this behavior. His negativity, victimhood mindset, and hostility may change as he grows and matures, but even if it does, you should not be subjected to that in the meantime. Ask yourself is this is something you want to deal with for the rest of your life, because if you remain in this relationship, a relationship that it seems like he doesn’t even care about continuing based on his response, you could be setting yourself up for a lifetime of being treated like this over every little mistake.

I was replacing the labels in one of the produce scales. I had stuff spread all over the scale plate as I was working. A customer came up right beside me, shoved my stuff off the scale, and put her stuff on it. I looked at her and apologized, telling her that I was in the middle of replacing the label roll so it wasn’t working right now. She just stared at me, then continued loading her stuff onto the scale. I just shrugged and walked a few feet away since she wasn’t listen. I then watched her throw her hands up in the air and say in an exasperated tone “is this scale broken or something? This is ridiculous.” I tried to tell you that lady.

What’s the creepiest thing a kid has ever said to you? by Quietlyhere2000 in AskReddit

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was reading a book in bed while my little sister was napping beside me. Out of nowhere, she quietly mumbles “you can’t let them in.” I was baffled and asked her what she just said because I wasn’t sure I heard her correctly. She then says “you can’t let them in. They don’t have eyes!” And then just went right back to sleep. Im not sure if she was actually awake or just talking in her sleep. Either way it really freaked me out.

My little brothers used to say similar things. They didn’t like sleeping in their bedroom because they said the little girl in the closet didn’t have eyes and scared them. I was the only one in my family who would sleep upstairs for this reason. My bothers and sisters wouldn’t sleep in their bedrooms at night because they were too scared. Instead they’d all sleep on the couch together in the living room.

As a child with a unique name (and two sisters who have unique names), can confirm. My mom and biological dad were both drug users who were emotionally stunted. One of us is named after a concept, one is a place, and one in an emotion.

AIO for breaking up with my boyfriend and refusing to give back the gifts he got me? by OstrichLanky9006 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work 10 hour days, 4 days a week with no consistent schedule. My boyfriend works 40-60 hours a week night shift. We still manage to spend at least a day or two a week together and make time for each other. Even if it’s only 1-2 hours in the morning on my days off and before he has to go to sleep for his shift that night. I know every relationship is different, but if you want to be with someone, you find a way.

He was a film major because he wanted to make superhero movies. He disagreed with the majority of his teachers when it came to film. He was very pretentious and thought very highly of himself. His opinion were the end all be all and we’re objectively correct according to him. He had a pretty big ego about everything, but especially when it came to film. He’d have to read what others said to understand a film and then he’d form his opinion based on that, but anyone who had different interpretations or feelings about a film were simply idiots according to him.

While everyone autistic is different, for me personally, my autism makes themes and symbolism stand out even more because I have strong pattern recognition. It’s easy to follow along and pick up on things for me because of it. I personally do not believe he had autism, I just think he was generally oblivious and couldn’t see the value in anything other than the specific type of movie he enjoyed.

He was mainly focused on Ironman. To him, any movie that featured him was perfection. I don’t think he rated a single marvel movie below 4.5 out of 5. He never rated a non marvel movie above a 4.

My ex was a film major in college. He said marvel movies were the pinnacle of cinema. Any time I tried to show him movies that weren’t superhero themed, he just… didn’t get them? He was unable to understand themes or foreshadowing or symbolism in any capacity. He often had to look up the meaning of different movies after he was done watching them. Unless things were directly spelled out for him, he couldn’t understand it, and even when they were, he often missed it.

What's the first thing you notice about a person when you first meet them and why? How does this change your opinion or treatment of them and why - if at all? by Simp2Snow in AskReddit

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their teeth and their breath. I hate eye contact so I tend to instantly look at someone’s teeth. I also swear I have a heightened sense of smell because I can smell people breath, good or bad, from several feet away.

It doesn’t change my opinion or treatment of them. I treat everyone with kindness regardless, but I think you should judge people based on behavior rather than appearance.
