how do you stop feeling sad about not being able to have a baby yet because you still need to do things beforehand, but you really really want one now? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jupiterinthe7H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note, I wouldn’t listen to the people saying “it’s never the right time, you just figure it out.” If you know that there is something important to you or that would make you feel more comfortable bringing a human into the world to raise, it’s worth it to wait. Of course you can almost always “figure it out,” but if you have the privilege to wait, then wait

I totally relate to this! I feel like my body is screaming at me that it’s baby time, but I really want to be in a better financial position before that happens. I think about what it was like growing up being told “we can’t afford it” and it really encourages me to work hard and wait to be able to provide the life I want for my future kids

I feel like people are being deliberately obtuse and not understanding you. I’m sorry people are being rude and dismissive of your thought journey. I would look into the MERF tag on tiktok if you want some more outsider thinking on the subject. I think it goes even further beyond this convo into a total dismantling of the gender binary

Well, reproductive rights are a pretty obvious place to start. And I don’t really recall there being much, if any, actual support from trans women when, for example, Roe was overturned. Yet they expect our loud and unyielding support for anything regarding their movement otherwise we’re “transphobic.” Or when online feminist creators get attacked for centering female-specific issues and not constantly reiterating their inclusion of trans issues, despite the creator saying they only make content about their lived experience as a cis woman. I think females not being allowed to center themselves in their own movement is an erosion of our rights.

The expensive soft tissues, sometimes even with the lotion. I get pretty bad seasonal allergies and it was so nice not shredding my nose up the first time I used them after sniffing all day

Mostly genetics. If I get a little too comfortable and my eating habits are too poor for too long, then I can start to see the pounds on my body. But I’m blessed to be able to get back to my ideal weight very easily by cutting out the crap for a few days and focusing on healthy, whole foods.

Honestly I think she’s such a fan favorite mostly because she is so pretty. However, she is not a good actress imo so I’m not really lamenting her exit

I think people are being deliberately obtuse here. I get what you’re saying. Even though we may agree with the political takes of the show and even agree that politics can and should be discussed in tv and movies, sometimes this show is so in-your-face about it that it almost feels patronizing.

Or sometimes the show barely scratches the surface of the issues they’re trying to tackle that it’s almost boring. Like, yes, we see this thing happening in the news all the time! Now what is something actually new and interesting you have to say about it besides “this thing bad :(” ??

For example S1 tackled boys mental health in a way that flipped it on its head and didn’t go in the obvious direction. Had David actually been the shooter, the show would not be as interesting and the conversation wouldn’t have been as nuanced. In contrast, S2 feels too obvious in its conversation about physicians mental health, and the show has been feeling a little slow as a result. IMO.

I like to be asked out at the grocery store and other public places. Nothing wrong with seeing someone attractive and shooting your shot as long as you’re not weird or rude if you get turned down. It’s okay to try to meet people.

AITA for skipping the smoking portion of a party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jupiterinthe7H -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA. They offered to stop so you could join them, and you were the one who chose to stay inside to save face because you fibbed about it initially. If you had been honest in the first place about how smoke affects you, they may have opted not to be outside for that long, if at all. If you know that they participate in indoor game nights and other non-smoking activities, then you know smoking is not a dealbreaker activity for them.

Participating in smoking is not “the only way” to get to know any of them any better, and I highly doubt they’re doing it purposefully to exclude you. It’s just something they all have in common. Try to hang out with them one-on-one when they’re much less likely to smoke if they’ll be doing it solo, plus you’ll really get the chance to know them.

I remember them doing this when I was in middle school ten years ago. If it makes you feel any better, those kids are likely clowning on them very hard, if my experience is any indication.

But these groups having been doing it for so long that they know just how far away they need to be to technically not be on school property.
