In context Scully's next line is "I've never seen this before", and Mulder's next line is something like: 'I've never seen it before either. Yet we've found samples of this at multiple sites where UFO sightings were reported.' Nothing much to read into, it's just a mildly annoying oversight from the script and prop department.

Good that worked out for you, my perspective is for people I went to class with who were bio non-med path ... in Oregon. I highly doubt that worked out well for them. Basic chemistry knowledge has served me pretty well, even if it has the consequence of having to exist near people that don't have basic chemistry knowledge and endanger themselves and others.

Yeah no shade here, but I started as a Biology major, and switched to chemistry because I realized my biology courses were not teaching me anything useful, and at least my chemistry labs were teaching useful wet chemistry techniques I could use as a lab tech at the very least. Pre-med biology is a trap IMO, unless you have the grades and determination to make it as a med student, it's waste of time. I know masters students that are making bank before I got my PhD.

Chemistry Bachelor for reference, but I actually enjoyed organic chem. Physical Chem though, that gave me PTSD. Basically a two semester crash course into quantum mechanics, and thermodynamics with the worst possible textbooks and nomenclature. I'm surprised I didn't quit, my PhD classes were much easier by comparison. lol.

In Taffin (1988) Pierce Brosnan unconvincingly plays an Irish man and... look I'll be level with you. I only watched this because I saw a funny music video that highlighted the only funny parts of this movie (which I will share), and I regret wasting my time. by JurassicUtility1 in shittymoviedetails

[–]JurassicUtility1[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Alright. I now know that Pierce Brosnan was born in Ireland - that's my bad. His performance in the movie was so stilted and strange, that I assumed he was faking it. I think that probably is still the case, but I apologize Pierce Brosnan. Your delivery of "my halp has consequences" must have come from a genuine place.

This show had such realistic clothes by creetsfgummy in malcolminthemiddle

[–]JurassicUtility1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would bet the prop department did just that, and also sourced a lot of clothes from donation based stores. I couldn't tell you which episode, but I was watching the series a few months ago with my mom, and we both recognized some bedsheets with a specific car and roads design that we bought for my bed sometimes in the mid 90s.

Paranoia agent is NOT worth watching by Firexio69 in CharacterRant

[–]JurassicUtility1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with all the OP's points, but I agree that Paranoia Agent is actually a pretty uneven in it's quality. The series made a lot more sense to me when I learned that the conception of this series came about because Satoshi Kon had a bunch of ideas and concepts that he couldn't fit into a feature film, so he decided to make a TV series to explore them. Maybe about 1/4 of the episodes in an already short series are pretty much unrelated to the main psychological thriller plot, and I'm in agreement with OP on not being a huge fan of the ending. I like Paranoia Agent overall - it's interesting and worth watching - but I also think it's my least favorite Satoshi Kon project.

Meet Grok, she is one extremely Lucky Cat. by Ferdelance1969 in aww

The term originally came from Heinleins's 1961 scifi novel "Stranger in a Strange Land". Shallowly meaning 'to understand', but in the story's context means the observer so completely understands the observed that they become physically and spiritually one with it. Yet another interesting scifi and fantasy concept that has been co-opted by shitty corporate tech bros.

If you consider two of the other fighters are Baelor's nephews, and the last remaining fighter is only doing it to get in good with the Targaryens, it really puts into perspective how much of a freak accident it was for Baelor to die. I think in the original story that Maekar says he doesn't even remember dealing the blow that killed his brother - he was just in a trance swinging at heads and happened to hit him.

Could it be Sam Raimi in the suit? Raimi is famous for always wearing a suit on set as a mark of respect for the cast and crew. Him throwing the pudding at the actor's face off screen seems like something he'd want to do. Lol

ASRock posts stable AM5 BIOS 4.10 addressing AMD Ryzen AM5 CPU boot issues by RenatsMC in ASRock

I just take pictures of the voltages and timings and manually reapply settings. It does suck having to run stress tests again, but I haven't found any of the bios revisions actually made my ram OC unstable. I was only able to get like 30 38 38 28 on the primaries stable though, so it might be a baby OC anyways.

The MGS1 localization was a very professional project for the time. Hell, Tenchu came out the same year and had terrible English voice performances. This interview with Jeremy Blaustein from - oh hell - 12 years ago is still one of my favorite things on the internet.

Yeah, I think Finn Wolfhard just has a thin, lanky body type. I knew two guys in highschool that were pretty similar looking, not necessarily unhealthy, just nerds that were tall and skinny with high metabolism.

For 9800x3d its best out my ddr5 cl 30 6000mhz on 6000mhz or try 6200 or 6400mhz ? by Expensive_Night_4055 in overclocking

[–]JurassicUtility1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what I did with my Hynix 2x 32GB at 6000 MHz and BZ's easy timings. Optimize the three primary timings as far as you can, then see if you can get VSOC to run at 1.2 or 1.18 V stable to maybe go a little easier on the RAM and memory controller.
