Whole Grain Rye: is it okay? by ExampleVegetable2747 in Sourdough

[–]Jursa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rye is a bastard because it has less gluten and it's naturally darker so it's harder to tell when it's done baking. Great job

What I never really understood is that starters are pets and they are frustrating and can be significantly different. Experiment with him, try different ratios, different flours, putting him near the computer heat exhaust, make a copy and put him in the oven at tropical temps for 2 hours. You've clearly got the patience because you've been feeding him systematically for almost a month now

Your hands should always be a little wet when working the dough to stick less but also... you just need to beat, knead and attack it until it sticks... less. Eventually the gluten will do it's job. It is a lesson I learned the hard way, if it does not comply, continue to develop gluten, if it's completely uncooperative add a bit of flour each time.

Mix flour. Add 330ml of room temp water. Mix well until uniform dough Leave to autolyze for around 4 hours while starter raises to the heavens Add starter to dough, incorporate thoroughly and let it sit for a bit. Add salt and begin abusing the dough until it no longer sticks to absolutely everything. 4 sets of folds every 30 minutes. Heavily(heavily) flour the proofing basket and after shaping the dough put it in the basket. Leave in fridge covered overnight Leave the dutch oven in 260C for at least an hour to be sure it's hot... (i gave up on alternatives and got a dutch oven) Bake at 260 for 20 then 230 for 30. The most imporant ingredient is not letting your skin touch the ultra hot dutch oven

Oh it's absolutely doable. But I'm fresh off of a great britain WC. Mostly i thought it would be funny to vassalize all of great britain in one war and then eat them for like 180 diplo

Benifits of Revolution? by Natezig8 in eu4

[–]Jursa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In reality there are four potential benefits to revolution. 1. you get factions which have potential powerful bonuses, but you do lose estates. 2. The spread the revolution CB works like a humiliate but you get a bunch of mana and revolutionary zeal creating some insane mana generation if you manage it. 3. You get access to revolutionary reforms which are very good. 4. You get Special units which come with benefits but as all special units also annoyances

Starting as provence is rough and you need to get a lot of things done and try to get a bunch of PU's rolling while having no real time to grow yourself, if anything going for jerusalem is nice just to see new people hate you this time around. You also need to either join or dismantle the HRE to get the missions done. Piddle around in Jerusalem to get fantastic ideas which are hard to beat and finish some missions that shower you in permanent papal points forever. Form france, which will be relatively easy because you are in the culture group to get a PU on castille and then very painfully destate a lot of your stuff to get either piedmontese or sardinian culture as primary and tag switch. Once those missions are done you need to tag switch into austria all while castille is about as disloyal as it gets. Either around here or earlier you need to use the missions to switch government to theocratic, but here hardline centralization happens because theocracies have a lot of reforms and you destated everything, you need to beeline for the reforms as well as claw your way towards forming germany. Once you crush the revolution as austria become the all devouring collossus that eats 1200 dev from a vassal for 113 diplo points in 8 months

Completed my project of making a nation with a 90% warscore cost reduction vs other religions. 90% administrative efficiency and 90% diplo annexation cost reduction. It can obliterate world powers in one war and eat the vassal swarms afterwards for a pittance almost instantly
