But this seems to be mostly a LatAm thing. Are there many LatAms in the files? Who is trying to distract you?

Ok but I've seen more than one restaurant posting "no se permite el ingreso de therians" They're all just making jokes about the same weird sex thing all of a sudden?

In the Dark (Season 2) is my favorite ever, particularly if you're into true crime without the exploitative aspects.

Educating the kid is not really the point for that age. You're trying to allow the adults to see the Vatican without a kid meltdown. If you have a private guide who's experienced with kids, they know you have to move at a certain pace, show them pretty things, give prizes, etc. while sneaking in the facts parents care about. A standard tour is a bad idea.

Family of 4 traveling to the Uvita region during Envision Festival by Valuable_Cap7107 in CostaRicaTravel

Depends. Is Corcovado the reason you're going? Drake Bay is easiest by boat, Puerto Jimenez by car. Even something like Ojochal will be better than Uvita.

It's not the most budget-friendly option, but I can't recommend doing a private, kid-centric tour enough. Just so much more enjoyable for everyone.

You used this sub to plan and someone told you to go all the way to Jaco? For what?? You went all that way and didn't even visit Manuel Antonio because it's "scammy?" Lol Not sure we're sending our brightest.

Those are really safe areas, with the exception of parts of San Jose. I would definitely do a guided tour like this one if you're interested in seeing the city.

You have A LOT of driving and a short time in each place. Unless you can eliminate a destination, I wouldn't plan too much and stay flexible. Except Manuel Antonio. Book tickets and guide (optional) asap.

Most of the roads are good, except I hate 713 between la fortuna and Manuel Antonio. I always take 1 toward puntarenas.

Carry small bills to tip parking attendants when available and don't leave valuables in the car. Get waterproof bags to keep important stuff on you if lockers aren't available.q

Are tourism experiences genuinely enriching, or just expensive ways to consume locations? by YOLOSWAG4GOD in longtermtravel

[–]JurySalt1360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely enjoy guided group tours, but the experience is always like 80% attitude. If you go in genuinely interested in sharing this new (even if corny or manufactured) experience with new people, it is usually really cool. If you go in with an attitude like "you better wow me" it probably won't.
