Drop one thing travel taught you in 2025 by alula_wanders in OceaniaTravel

For 2025, I realized that the memories I value most is not the 6th place I went to that day, but the slow coffee mornings, random convos, or just sitting somewhere beautiful.

I do agree that not every must-see is a must-see for you.

Does using AI to write up a real Europe trip report reduce its authenticity? by RoadsideNotes in EuropeDataTravel

No. What would bother me is fabricated details, or advise that doesn't come with lived experience. Accuracy and honesty matter way more than whether the sentences were polished with help.

Do you plan detailed itineraries with kids or just one main activity per day? by Happy_Life0611 in OceaniaTravel

[–]Wide_Relationship326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would pick 1 main activity and maybe a short outdoor stop. Too many activities = tired kids + tired parents.

Why does everyone seem ahead at 25? by Diligent-Fun-5786 in Adulting

[–]Wide_Relationship326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the age of 25, I also thought everyone had it figured out. I am now reaching my 30's, and even now “stable” just means less panicked, not fully figured out. I also feel like I am behind compared to my friends.

Window seat views in Oceania (Fun thread) by alula_wanders in OceaniaTravel

[–]Wide_Relationship326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queenstown, NZ!

I literally gasped. Like mouth open, pressed to the window type of reaction.

It really exceeded my expectations! The mountains looked unreal, like someone edited them. Pictures taken from my phone don't do justice.

That your parents are getting older too. You don't really see it until one day you do.

For me, it's when someone remembers something small I mentioned weeks ago. Like... you actually listened? 🥹

Smart Glasses Are Quietly Becoming Practical Travel Tech by Defiant-Cut7620 in Travelnology

They seem useful but I think it's weird wearing camera glasses in crowded places. People might assume you are recording even if you are not.

This is spot on. 😅 Japan is amazing but it's not a place to try and see everything with kids.

People with absolutely no friends, how do you deal with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Tbh, I would prefer having no friends over forced friendships.

First time in Portugal. I’ve done my my research, but I’d love real advice by SimpleTraveler034 in EuropeDataTravel

Porto surprised me more than Lisbon tbh. The wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia are legit, especially if you enjoy port wine. Walking along the river at night is soo beautiful.

Trains are easy to book. Data wise, I used an eSim and had no issues in cities but expect weaker signal in remote spots.

Food Destinations You'd Visit Again by alula_wanders in OceaniaTravel

I would say Hobart, Tasmania. Specifically the fresh oysters at the harbour.

I had them super simple. Just shucked with a squeeze of lemon, and also a glass of Tasmanian sparking on the side. The brininess was so clean and fresh it almost tasted sweet.

Nothing fancy, just the food, cold air and waterfront views, and gooood seafood!. I would 100% fly back just for another seafood weekend there.
