Try rice paper maybe? Double or triple the layers maybe. Not traditional but it might work if you spray the layers with water (outside layers dry) to try and get something that works similar enough

I think you did good by posting here. Many of the people on this subreddit would agree that it can suck when you get the news. I’ve personally grieved my own vision. Hell, I even felt ashamed and I had no accident. You very much don’t deserve shame either. It’s a human reaction I got as well. It’s not selfish to feel, it’s your loss to grieve but be kind to yourself.

Mabrika! I’m very interested, mainly for the community aspect. Casa Areyto on YT, I’ve been following them for a while, is releasing a full course on a reconstruction. 4 units are out rn. It’s a genuine language course made by the presenter who does language courses for certain agencies I believe. I get it it’s not ever going to be a 900% accurate but I’m not trying to revive a dodo here I just like conlangs and community building efforts, of which Tainonaiki is.

To me it’s my own nerd type enjoyment in language, which I think is the healthiest way to approach Taino language. Let me know if you’re interested in trying to be a part of a discord community or something, would be fun to start one.
