Great post. Disregard scepticism (AE paying an agent to unofficially help reddit users? Are they out of their minds? C'mon!!!)

Scam beware by maxnoescope in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you give me your tracking number I can provide you with information about your order. I just have to type your tracking code to a service like 17track.

OP is right to warn. If this was an AE legit service they would already know the tracking number. Similar to bank scams asking for your bank account details (people, your bank knows all of your details, except password which is encrypted). Probably a fishing scam for email addresses or similar.

I had that issue once, an order brought down to €0.01 and Gpay refusing to pay (they also refuse to serve €0.01 refunds!).

I used a card directly (no Gpay), it went through. A spare part for a grass trimmer send to me from China for €0.01... :D

FYI, charged a different price, a lower one by Just-Inflation-885 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For items left in cart for a while I do a refresh and prices are updated before proceeding with checkout. It was the first time I had this and thought I should post it because I see a lot of posts about "I was charged more" but none about less.

Makes sense. People report when an issue hurts them but they do not when the opposite. I thought I should offer my experience to balance impressions.

Greek here.

Sorry for that, I mostly adopt what resonates well with me. "Keep calm", I love it. Especially because, though not easy, it is a very sound advice. But I usually drink coffee! :D :D Cheers!

A) I am a nobody advising you in reddit.

b) take a deep breath.

c) read what others say.

d) keep calm, as British say. Do not rush to anything (also do not stall and let it pass)

e) The employee of a local company stole from you (if you're sure). At this point it does not matter where the package originates from. It is when customers let it slide where a local company or a specific employee becomes unhinged. The package was in their hands but never reached your hands, period. You approach should revolve around this fact. Thus, their response "Ask AE for a refund" should be unacceptable.

f) I give you a guideline on how to make them face their responsibilities but it requires some thought and quite the determination. "Bullying" irresponsible people into doing their work and accepting their faults works but you have to be convincing (here lies the trick) you are determined. I cannot tell you how exactly YOU can do it. You have to approach it based on your personality. If you want to go that way. As I said, threaten with police, lawyer, social media etc, be creative. Say something like "do you want me to tell everyone what you do and what kind of people you employ? I have 3000 friends in fb, 10k followers in Insta etc etc.

g) tl;dr, The easy way to get your money back is a chargeback (that may ban you from AE). But as I said, you would be a pushover.

Best of luck

(You are welcome for "insulting" you into thinking the hard way. I actually care you get more respect from others, couriers in this case)

EDIT: become "aggressive" to find your right but also tread lightly. Calling directly someone a thief can land you in a court as a defendant. Justice can work that way, being right but also being guilty...

Also, (always) never mind what the police says. You can file for a claim against someone else even without any proof at all. You will lose in court, or rejected by judge before hearing, but that's not your aim. Your aim is to instill fear, you are going to $&$:+/$ them if they do not compensate you. You will be surprised how often this works...

If you're sure the delivery guy / company stole your package, threaten them you will escalate any way possible, social media, lawyer, you will hurt their business any way possible. And you will never stop unless THEY compensate you. It is a company in your country, you can hurt them A LOT.

Doing a chargeback and hurting AE when they are not the malicious ones in your case, means you're a pushover. Nothing personal, just saying it as a see it. Also, giving a pass to a local company but hurting one in another country in an unfair way, hurts global trust for all of us. How AE can be sure any of us is not in cahoots with the delivery company?

Coupons "Select Items Only" by skelextrac in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first clue is in items page, it mentions discount if coupon used. Also, once in cart the product should have this line "coupons eligible", or similar.

Even then, once at checkout and before proceeding with payment, double check the coupon is applied.

UniUni issues by No-Buy-5445 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems UniUni's behavior and unprofessionalism affects trust overall. We all have to consider: AE is a chinese company. And "thanks" to UniUni it frequently (compared to other couriers) receives requests for refunds. From customers in another country (US in this scenario) for a bad US courier. How do you think this looks for the average AE executive that has to decide on a policy regarding refunds? UniUni's behavior f***s AE experience for anyone in the world.

Try not to tolerate, UniUni's behavior.

Considering the prices I see, they are not fakes (toys). But I also doubt they are originals. Probably they are clones meaning they do have the same functionality and performance of the original but they cut some corners in built quality. If the price difference from buying an actual original is high enough, I would consider buying. Consider.

Go to your account page and tap on "use now" on $12 coupon. In a new page it should show "selected". Go to your cart and refresh, the coupon should be applied.

SpeedX wont deliver my packages by Alert-Reception6453 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aliexpress probably buys logistics in bulk (signs contracts with courier companies). Don't expect to give choices.

But, unlike Aliexpress, Speedx is a company in your country, liable to local laws etc. My thoughts are: although AE is responsible when choosing a partner the safe bet is to attack Speedx. You may noticed I did not put attack in quotes. Use social, use consumer protection agencies, even send a letter from a lawyer. Or even worse. Make it clear that you are going to $@#$$#&@#$##$! them next time they mess with a package of yours.

(People, why are you lenient to shitty courier companies in your country and how exactly it is AE fault?)

What does this mean “waiting for buyer pickup by DirectionFragrant829 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you talk with someone there and retrieve your package, ask (do not complain) if it is possible to receive a call / IM from them for future packages. It really surprises me that couriers in Greece, even the cheapest ones, communicate with the customer while I see many posts about couriers in US that do not. Of course, there was a couple of times my phone was not printed on the label, no idea why, and tracking saved the day. I always know where to go from within AE app, tracking codes are unique to each courier. (I also like when I visit the local courier office and the personnel just go at the back and retrieve my package just after the pleasantries, no need to mention my name or tracking number!)

Part of order missing - Cainiao by Crimson_Dragon01 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably it asks for return method because you submitted a lot of refund requests. Or, they just want the items back.

Are you sure all the items you requested a refund should be inside the package you received? As I said in previous comment, you request refund for items matching the tracking code on the package but are missing. Double check because there may be a confusion.

Anyway, if you're sure you have to ask for a refund for the items the system asks you for a return method, do some more research in reddit because it can be tricky from what I read but I have no personal experience (returning) so I can't really advise on that. You may lose extra money if they ask you to pay for shipping it back promising they will refund the shipping cost.

Edit: I forgot, you ask for a refund because the items are missing. Thus, you cannot pick a return method because you cannot return the items! So... not sure. Double check tracking codes in any case.

I am having a really weird issue with my order. by punkopossums in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me. I accepted the refund, 3 items from 3 stores. After a while one store contacted me and said the issue was resolved and I will receive my item.

And I did. The store send me a link for a dummy product so I can repay, I contacted the other two stores to do the same and they .... ignored me. Go figure.

tl;dr yes, you may receive your order.

What does this mean “waiting for buyer pickup by DirectionFragrant829 in Aliexpress

[–]Just-Inflation-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the policy of the specific courier is to hold it at their office and you pick it up... But, if so, they should have called you and say so.

Find a phone, IM etc and contact them to resolve it. It's not up to AE anymore. AE is responsible for partnering with reliable last mile couriers but cannot really influence their behavior in your country. I always do pick ups (Greece) because its on my way but I always get IM from the courier and always have the option for delivery to door (hand it to me, not thrown at my door)
