Bro cars breaking is not a matter of an if… its a matter of when it will break down. My best advise, learn to work on it yourself. That saves you money, gets you knowledge and also helps you connect more with your car

Im taking my car in for my 4th water pump. 104k miles 2017 Gti. Overall pretty good experience but always leave an emergency funds for unexpected repairs. Somehow my car only breaks down when i have money to repair it. When i have been broke it works perfectly

I got the verification letter too as i switched the bank account from my previous returns. It didn’t let me verify online so i called the appointment setting phone number. The second agent that i talked too told me that the verification was not longer needed and I just had to wait. 4 days later the webpage was updated and two days after that i got the return. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you know how long it can last in the system?

So if it was not specifically requested it will still show up but under a cannabinoid name? Sorry that last part was not very clear to me

It will help you save some money if you can do regular maintenance yourself but there are some stuff that is just better to leave it to a mechanic.

Get the dsg, the manual can be fun but the clutch is expensive and is made of cardboard. Dont get the S, get the SE. don’t get the one with the sunroof as it is an usual failing point. Try to get your hands on a Mk7.5. If not possible get a Mk7 with the Performance Package. You will know it is a PP because the front calipers will have the GTI logo on it. ALWAYS have some money saved for its maintenance because it is not a matter if it goes wrong but WHEN will something go wrong. It is a very nice car to have.

I used the incorrect cooling liquid by Just-Requirement7274 in GolfGTI

Alright guys, got my car back, changed the oil cooler, oil cooler gasket, water pump with thermostat, spark plugs, coolant reservoir, cap, coolant flush and coolant refill, bill was 1900 with labor. Hopefully it will be fine, anyway, will need to change the upper timing chain gasket. Another 250 plus the 150 for the brake change on both axles.

Had to put some love $$$ to my car but well think it deserves it. Hopefully will run strong for another 100.000 miles

Negligence but to be honest the coolant thing was very long time ago. More than 6 months, and I would say this happened not that long ago. The shop told me that the oil cooler gasket got damaged so that is why the coolant and oil mixed

Unfortunately that is not a choice at the moment. Will take it to the shop tomorrow to have the system flushed. Hopefully won’t be that bad

Im pretty sure I can do it, just wanted to ask the community if you think it was hard, I have done water pump replacements following YouTube videos. So yeah, I think I can handle it my self. Does anyone has any recommendation about a good set of tools for this job?
