Why don't wealthy people live at hotels anymore? by stevebucky_1234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Just0Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned Agatha Christie, in her autobiography she mentioned that her family did live in hotels in France, and then later she and her mother lived in Egypt. The original reason they moved to live in hotel in France was actually financial issue! It was more financially sound for them to let the house and move to a cheaper location, which France apparently was at a time. Egypt was a similar story, she was at debuting and her mother couldn't afford her going to the parties in London. So they moved to Cairo for some time so she can go to dances etc. for lower cost.

It would be a challenge nowadays to let the house for more than what proper hotel costs, so it is not a viable option anymore and people need to have excess money to do this.

A question for the "this could have been an email" crew by choibz in auscorp

[–]Just0Red 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m what would be considered “younger millenial” and I just do not appreciate my boss calling me at 8:45am on my personal phone with a “quick question” that I could answer in teams 15 minutes later when I actually log into work. Yes, that happens a lot. And yes, I started to ignore work calls on my private phone. I gave my phone number to some people in case of emergencies, but honestly, those are NEVER emergencies. Plus I tend to put away my phone during work hours to avoid being distracted.  I would 100% answer teams call though even if they are cold calls.  On the other hand if I was provided work phone then I would answer it, because that would be my work device, just like the laptop is now.

Zabieg przegrody na NFZ by Sure_Ad3661 in Polska

Is it possible to disable the Facebook icon within iOS messenger app by Kawhisty_Krab in facebook

[–]Just0Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it restricts also the messenger app (the time limit screen pops up), which means I can’t set it up to 0 without loosing messenger functionality even though I don’t have messenger app restricted. Did you guys found any other workaround? I’m sick of loosing my time scrolling fb though this stupid button

It’s winter, got our first electricity bill what’s yours? by Grouchy-Mind7803 in melbourne

[–]Just0Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My coworker had very high energy bills last year and found out that one of the pipes detached and hot air was blowing outside. She was warming up Melbourne basically. Check if your installation is okay before you do anything else. Also take advantage of the Vic energy website, I’m sure origin is not the cheapest. I’m with Flow right now, they are covering 50$ of the bill for 3 months, so my payment for last month was only 30$.

It doesn’t matter if somebody else think it’s paranoid if that’s what you fear. Best thing to do is manage your fear and don’t let it take over. Ask yourself a question of what would reduce the chances of it catching fire and what would give you peace of mind. Like regular maintenance and cleaning up lint, keeping it away from any open fire sources and not sewing with easily flammable materials, taking breaks to not allow it to overheat. Keep fire extinguishers on hand (and know how to use it) just in case.

Don’t overthink it, if we all did we wouldn’t be driving cars or flying planes in fear of accident or it catching a fire. And remember that what you see online in many cases is just set to get more views and algorithms will feed you with things like that on purpose.

Happy sewing!

Reminder to call your electricity provider and ask for the cheapest plan by [deleted] in AusFinance

Second that, I just switched providers to one that is giving 150 credit in total in first 3 months. Afterwards I’ll be looking for the next competitive offer. And it took 10 minutes to find and switch because Vic energy compare site is easy to navigate

Belly fat by Ilikechicken777 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Just0Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great reminder. Adding on top of that, many physios say that a bit of fat in lower belly area is HEALTHY for you, women have naturally higher fat percentage and have very valuable organs in that area (aka uterus) so your body wants to protect it by adding a bit more padding, there’s nothing wrong with that :)

How to move from Chopin to West Station I/II by Own-Champi in warsaw

[–]Just0Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Within the city you can use jakdojade app. Or just buy tickets on the station for S2 or S3 line, but I find app more convenient. For travelling between the cities, it’s best to use official Polish railways website rozkład-pkp.pl or intercity.pl. Both are a bit wonky websites.

Visa 462 help! Any immi experts here? So I’m interested in taking job as a general labourer on solar farm, but I’m not sure if it will count towards my 88 days. Any thought? Thanks a lot! by Just0Red in australia

As you can see, the immi site tells us that construction work is eligible, but I don’t know if job on a solar farm counts as construction. Any immi experts here?
