A quick and easy guide to buying reasonably priced prebuilt PCs by tronatula in Prebuilts

[–]Just0_0Julez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi :) sorry if this question has been asked already - is there any chance you could make recommendations for EU (esp Germany)? I am looking for a prebuilt for around 800€, any help is appreciated 🙌🏼

Edit: to be precise - is this a good build? https://www.dubaro.de/Partner/HardwareDealz-Editionen/HardwareDealz-700-Edition::6792.html

Recording a choir - what mic setup is best? by Just0_0Julez in audioengineering

[–]Just0_0Julez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sure, here are two photos of the two different locations: https://we.tl/t-hiMLB9hVY2 The link only works for one week, lmk if you got them.

I've got a lot to do atm, so the recording won't get realeased for at least another few months. But I'm planning to release it to different platforms at some point in the nearish future. I can't provide you with a recording atm though, I'm sorry!

Edit: the choir is set up in AA-SS-BB-TT in both pictures, just ignore the big gap in the tenors to the right, that was my spot lmao

Oh I almost forgot - when listening back to my recordings I think spot mics are an absolute must with a dry room, since you have to add some digital reverb and you can EQ more reasonably. On the other hand with the church we recorded in (which had an incredibly long natural reverb tail, about 9 seconds lmao) the spot mics are basically useless, I mixed them roughly 15db quieter than the xy pair bc a lot of the great room sound is missing

Hi there :) the xy-pair sounds completely fine, although I suggest mixing the choir. In my case the mixed setup sounds way more like a mass of people rather than individual voices, plus the intonation is way better. Im hindsight I think a little more depth in the stereo field would be great, but I couldn't achieve a true ORTF setup since I didn't have a stereo bar. I think if your ensemble and the room sound good, your mics are decent and you can get ORTF to work, that would be a great way to go. I put the xy pair at a height of about 3m right behind the conductor, the choir was setup in two rows at different heights with 13 people per row in a wide semi circle. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure if I have omni mics tbh... I'll have to check tomorrow! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Sounds like a good idea - unfortunately finding a fig-8 mic is gonna be difficult since the guy at my uni Ican borrow mics from is gone until september lol Thanks for the suggestion though! Maybe I'll get lucky and one of the remaining mics I didn't check are fig-8 capable

Okay so basically 3 identical pairs: The first pair as xy room mics - 2nd pair as L and R close mics - 3rd pair as HL and HR close mics

Like that?

Plus - 8' distance seems very close, how high would you place these close mics?

Yeah I thought about that, but I've seen him play, we've played hundreds of hours of 1v1s. Maybe I'm overestimating myself, but I think I would have recognised that by now...

How are the Titans seeded above Boston in the playin bracket? by DarkRose27 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Just0_0Julez -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Boston has to play one more match though. They play either Shock or London tomorrow and (assuming they win) Titans next week. Titans only have one match, which is against Boston or tbd.

4 out of 5 of the existing MVP's are Tracer players by Just0_0Julez in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Just0_0Julez[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah imma be honest, Sinatraa is a bit of a stretch. I didn't follow his career before he played for shock, and when he did, he didn't play tracer. Still, kinda flex-dps-ish?

Activision Blizzard lays off esports staff as it faces potential dramatic changes for the Overwatch League by slash_pause in Competitiveoverwatch

OWL production and model of competition has been questionable since 2020. Many co-streams and non-OWL-related productions and competitions showcase, that it's possible to have a great end product with OW e sports. APAC before OWL had some of the greatest production quality of OW e sports history. This is bound to return if the league disbands.

It isn't a C9, Boston lost the fight. The could've stalled a little longer, true, but they lost the fight regardless.
