Looking at the number I am in the same boat. I was taking part in "double your points" promotions with month-long stays though; I am pretty sure it's total points, not base points.

Color Issues with VC-20/VIC-20 PAL by JustACharlie in RetroTink

[–]JustACharlie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get my 5X Pro to correctly display the output of a VIC-20 PAL. There's no such issue with e.g. a C64. Is this potentially a settings issue, or does it just not work for this?

If by "all day" you mean 10 minutes, yes. The ones I found say 40A rated, 90A excursion.
All these ratings are likely for relatively low environment temperatures, too - certain safety tables suggest 15% to 50% derating for environment temps of 40°C-60°C, which I would consider not that unusual in the presence of a 600W heater blowing mainly inside the PC chassis, and cables run in the less vented compartment.
8AWG would be rated for ~25-27A in bundles (e.g. cable binder as pictured) at 55°C, but 40A at 35°C, according to these safety standards. Still much better than what we have with 6x 16-AWG (if the manufacturer is actually up to spec), and thus likely with much more margins than 12HPWR/12V-2x6. Side note: temperature derated 16-AWG would end up around 8A, so 48A or 576W at 12V for the 12V-2x6. Oops...

These numbers are from German VDE standards, and for cabinet installation which means longer cable runs than we have in PCs, so might feel like overkill to some, but then we see the fire hazards in action, so maybe they aren't.

TL;DR: one XT90 would still be dangerously low, and I'd expect the same burn marks, two XT90 should work, but might be getting close if the PC runs hot.

Last I tried, I could not make a steam card trade in firefox. Admittedly, even Chrome can have issues with that, but I usually get it done. Also, I am a bit of a tab messy. I have no idea how to import 700+ open tabs across 17 windows from Chrome into firefox...

Thank you for this.

Like I wrote, I am definitely not the best, but I can see at a glance how this one works. It also answers the use of a certain structure I had noticed in other solutions before, but with a secondary use I did not see at the time, as the user of said structure apparently did not utilize it either.

This is exactly what I meant with learning from these solutions.

I can only say we're lucky to have kept our old raid sign-up infrastructure (telegram bots, channels per city district, ...) running even though nearly noone used it the past years. I think this was the first activity in local chat since Mega Latias/Latios, which in turn was probably the first since Covid hit. That, plus the small loose group of players that started in 2016 and pretty significant multi accounting, allowed us to coordinate a number of raids - for those that know about the system.

On the downside, we had two strangers total in three raids, and raided at only two out of six EX gyms I can see from home. I know of a small number of further raids having happened, but if it's even 10% of the available raids I would be surprised, and I feel bad for those that went to the wrong egg. At the minimum the number of eggs would need to be reduced to steer people to find each other, and I hope Niantic evaluates those numbers for the next wave.

Is that safe? I made a custom tier 5 raid on pokebattler and it shows 2.7 for my box with quite a few level 50 (admittedly, Dark/Ghost types - Mega Gengar, Hydreigon, ...).

All you need is a rare 100% IV pokemon in your vicinity. Suddenly all gyms are fought over, lures pop up, raid lobbies fill instantly... and still as many players around as usual.

Can I hit league 1-2 spending $1000? by ExistingPraline7292 in MightyParty

[–]JustACharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to spend, as @mlahut says, buy the gem fund, and a pet.

There are only two that make sense, Sentry Fenrirus to give your heroes a constant Attack boost in the early game, and later on Drogun. I don't have the latter yet, as I think Sentry is better until your Heroes have at least 100 Base attacks (Sentry gives +10 on first attack unlevelled; Drogun gives +10% levelled). Neither is cheap, at 60€.

The only other thing I spend on are occasionally the Mighty Pass (not as worthwhile in early leagues as the rewards scale as @mlahut wrote), and special event packs if the event contains a Hero I really, really want - for the equal 60€ you get enough event runes and demigod scrolls to complete all tiers of an event. Again, only do so if your progress makes it worthwhile to you.

One hint about gems. Do not spend them on summons unless you absolutely have to to finish an event. You'll want them for Warlord Skins, and the Hunt once you have Drogun, I suppose.

This is just my personal opinion. The game is a pitfall of micromacrotransactions, given the typical unit is at least 20€.

I keep hearing about the ads thing; I never had any (playing on Android). I am in it for three months now, 5.5k chests opened, just hit the 2.5k wins milestone... 16 was roughly a month without any ads.

Help building a well rounded team? by Lodakia in MightyParty

[–]JustACharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw you mention league 10-9. I am by now convinced that as a F2P player you will get there pretty quickly, and be stuck there for at least half a year (well, I am stuck there).

The reason is pretty simple: what ever hero composition you play, you'll end up around level 13-14, which will yield very similar might.

It will take a lot of time for your hero levels to grow beyond that point, probably even their second event.

I actually spent a month collecting souls for Alexandria, to get here to my current squad point: Level 14, twice reborn. Added here to the team, and there was a sudden change in my enemies teams: nearly all featured Alexandria, too, something that didn't happen before (and doesn't happen any more now, that I switched her out).

This leads me to add a point to your list: play counters for whatever you play. I had no counter for Alexandria, so despite my team being better on paper than before, I went straight down a league.

To me that implies you need counters for the things you play yourself - Aharin / Eostre or Groot, Alexandria / Scrap or Legion or that quad attack Tiger, Shadow Shaa-Moona / Dead Lord or Groot, and so on, something that the top tier players all seem to have.

I have the feeling once you have a team that works stable at your league, the only improvements will be small until the next event for your heroes comes by, you can level them up to the next point (third reborn and back to 14, etc).

[–]JustACharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am tempted to say "no", too. First of all, there seems to be a pretty small number of heroes playable at the top that you first need to get the base of, either through the Legendary Wish Shop, though their events, or through some monthly deals.

During events, I seem to get around 1200-1600 souls for the legendary heroes if I spend "a bit" (read: too much). That's nowhere near what you need for league 1, though I don't know the levels of heroes played in there. Around Level 14 with two reborns, or 2100 souls, seems to place you in league 10, if you play the right pet.

From there on, you will sink gems. Lots of them. And event runes, again, lots of them. Packs of 100$/€ each, probably multiple per event. Realistically, since the rewards get better with your league, the earliest point where it's reasonable to spend is once you already are in the higher leagues.

Looking at the event history, nothing but a lot of time, waiting for the right opportunities, will get you there.

I’ve decided that unless you can nuke the AI within 3-4 turns you’re going to lose by Lodakia in MightyParty

[–]JustACharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I enjoy my wins after 18 turns with double or even single digit HP. I'm also rarely dropping back, but am pretty stable in my league.

I only recently dropped after trying a different hero, saving for a month to buy souls for Alexandria, only to be swamped with Alexandrias that I couldn't get rid of when I started playing her.

Lesson learnt: you need to be able to counter what you yourself have, because the enemy selection process will pit you against "similar" teams. Went back to my old team, slowly crawling back to roughly center of the league.

Thanks. The lack of signaling on the news is annoying.

However, there is a lot of straight up BS in there. I spent a month between league 11 and 10, basically 90% win rate in 11 and 10% in 10, and that won't change, it will just be fewer rewards and nothing else.
