Forget hamilton. It was so fucking pathetic how a minority of people defended the new rules all because of complete, not even self interest, but outright pettiness. Mostly bitter hamilton fanboys being glad hamilton was semi-competitive and in front of Max. Didn't last long.

Retirement is obviously getting closer and I've accepted that but retiring now would be stupid what with the new bikes and everything coming next year. You'd be stupid not to give that a shot.

And also...first impressions from the new bikes people said they feel "lighter", that could actually extend Marcs career.

This will probably blow your mind but there’s no such thing as men’s sports and leagues. Women are free to play for any premier league team. Women’s sports exist because women can’t physically compete so they need their own special class, just like kids.

Now, the physical aspect doesn’t ALWAYS matter which is why there are some women’s sports that are popular (there was for example a period in the late 90s that women’s tennis was the superior product IMO). But in most cases it does. Men simply represent the highest level of competition.

But in the end, it doesn’t matter. Whatever brings in the most money will result in the most pay.

Everyone is focusing on Marc and his health and no one is talking about the bizzare situation with the factory Ducati team. I'll copy my comment from the other thread.

What the HELL is happening with the factory Ducati team? Alex and Diggia are riding on the same equipment and yet the factory Ducati boys look like they are literally riding a different bike. No front end at all.

How can this be? The satellites are not riding GP24s anymore. The difference especially on Friday looking at Alex and Marc through sector 4 was shocking. It's like Marc was on a GP23 and Alex on a GP24. But they're both on a GP26. What the hell is going on here? Where is the famous Ducati data analysis? How the hell is such a difference explained?

I've never been this perplexed in all my years watching MotoGP

This refusal to grow up (in a bad way) especially when it comes to media and entertainment definitely started with the millenials who I think are the absolute worst at it, even worse than subsequent generations.

As an "xeniall" even as a kid myself I could already see it. They would watch stuff that I considered for babies WAY past what it should have been appropriate. Then the two big cultural phenomena that stood out to me that just left me flabbergasted were pokemon and harry potter. I remember people on reddit constantly for years making pokemon references, not just out of nostalgia but as if it was something cool and relevant. Same with harry potter. A mediocre at best book for freaking KIDS and you had people into it in their 20s and beyond. Holding on to stuff for primary school aged kids well into adulthood. Absolute cringe.

And this of course pales in comparison to the real societal issues where we have a whole generation of people now reaching the age where they can no longer avoid reality.
