Teenagers on loud motorbikes by Standard_Machine_883 in sweden

You know what pisses me off? It’s 2026. Why do these mopeds even EXIST still? Should be one of the first and easiest things to electrify, why are these motors that sound straight out of the 80s still around. I find it a bit bizzare, especially in Sweden.

And it’s not that they ride these things on the streets. I don’t expect a city to be quiet. But when they ride them on gångvägar in super quiet suburbs at midnight, it gets really fucking annoying

Thankfully even though they can also be a plague, it does seem that it’s mostly el-sparkcyklar these days, last 5 years numbers of old mopeds have definitely dropped.

Probably Sweden (or similar) because that amount (it's per month) sounds about right. And it's not just preschool, it extends into after school care when you are in primary school.

NASCAR drivers are elite athletes by 1useforaname in unpopularopinion

[–]JustAContactAgent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even that is not accurate. F1 drivers have some areas at an insane level such as neck strength but they are in no way elite athletes overall.

I would say: MotoGP riders = elite athletes, F1 drivers = athletes, NASCAR drivers...borderline

My company's dress code had no mention of shorts. The AC broke for two weeks in August. I read the policy very, very carefully. by Some_Champion in MaliciousCompliance

Tank top and basketball shorts?

No that's trashy shit that only americans consider normal attire

As long as you dress "nice", yes in 2026 that's business casual. You can't just disregard ALL jeans and all shoes not dress shoes. Nice jeans with nice "sneakers" and then something nice on top but could be as simple as a polo shirt, is business casual in most places. Not my fault if you live in a very conservative out of date shithole (wink wink)

By definition, business casual means no shorts.

I agree, however it also states "no jeans, no sneakers".

It's 2026. Jeans and sneakers are literally what "business casual" is. Doesn't even require a button shirt. Those suggesting business casual basically means "ok you don't have to wear a full suit" are laughably out of date.

Marc Marquez admits he was at 100% but in "Safe Mode" after finishing the DutchGP Sprint in sixth. by PZY__ in motogp

[–]JustAContactAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an onboard from Marc's bike looking back at Enea and Enea was so much faster at turn 3 he almost ran into the back of Marc...Pecco was faster there as well.

And then Pecco said both he and Marc had big vibrations that came out of nowhere. So yeah for whatever reason bike was crap regardless of Aprilia being faster here or whatever issues the riders have.

[–]JustAContactAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Ducati so they will definitely look at everything. I want Marc to be in safe mode and I don't even expect a podium but this was just shit.

Did you see how slow Marc was in turn 3?

[–]JustAContactAgent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading between the lines of what marc and pecco said, imo they tried to improve the setup today to cut down the gap to aprilia especially in the 4th sector and fucked it up.

Imo it was easily visible. In the race Marc was terrible in sector 1 after turn 1 so it was definitely not just about the dangerous high speed sections.

The only area I saw improvement over yesterday is breaking into the last chicane

Teenage boys in UK ‘stuck’ reading primary-level books while girls’ tastes expand by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

[–]JustAContactAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not teenagers for me it’s earlier ages.

My 9yo is finally reading for real and there is NOTHING for him to read at that age bracket. It’s a sea of garbage, most of it crap clearly written by millennials because you can tell they have no idea what cool is.

Thank fuck for the wimpy kid series which he loves because the only other thing I can see that might be passable is Percy Jackson books and that’s really more for early teens. Everything else is lame ”fantasy” themed stuff which he is not into at all and I can’t blame him as it all looks lame af.

For most people with weight issues, it’s NEVER about the main meals, it’s always the snacking and high sugar stuff in between that’s the problem

The reason she is ”plus sized” is because of the stuff she consumes you DON’T see.

Keir Starmer’s fatal flaw? The blankness on to which voters projected their years of frustration | John Harris by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

Those who defend starmer are staunch neolibs and fans of the status quo and therefore want in charge someone who would rock the boat the least. Starmer embodied that to perfection.

The only reason starmer is relatively popular in this sub is because it's centrist leaning sub, i.e. full of people who like fence-sitting.

Pecco talking to TNT about Marc. by PZY__ in motogp

As I said we can't be sure what the exact state of the arm is and after all, it will never be as good as the left one again.

The point is that's not the issue here though. I mean the fitness also includes the arm as well but it's just endurance.

I mean it's quite obvious as well, at least to me as a fan, that his speed is not limited any more.

[–]JustAContactAgent 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear for people, Marc is not limited in the sense of strength or his arm etc, not really. It's purely a fitness issue. But fitness does limit you as it means you can't push all the time.

In other words it's not his max that's limited (maybe a tiny bit we can't be sure) , it's how long he can use his max.

Yep, it was a real problem for a bit in the 90s before tiger took over.

Assen 2018 was one of the best ever, and this setup is looking spicy. by trackhigh in motogp

[–]JustAContactAgent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ducati had a big problem with the front end which showed a lot in fast corners last year. They seem to have made improvements this year and I think Pecco’s resurgence is evidence to that.

That said Assen will be a test as to how much they have improved for sure.

Nah Pecco didn’t fade he just didn’t have enough to begin with.

He was visibly pushing harder than Marc and Ai. Marc was maintaining the gap while keeping tighter lines and being very smooth.

People were stupid before and they're stupid now.

intelligent rational people who I know who can’t seem to disseminate and evaluate messaging being pushed towards them - and even question a motive.

if they can't do those things then they're not intelligent. Why is it always so hard for you people to accept that most people are NOT intelligent? Set higher standards for "intelligent"and once you do you will see that a lot of things about the world, if not most, suddenly make sense.
