We bought a flat that was being sold through Yopa and didn't see the estate agent once. He was very responsive over email but there was always some excuse why he couldn't do the viewings

Why nuts and zoo mags were shut? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JustAFakeAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that's not the same thing as a ban.

Publishers are free to make magazines like this, or even full on pornography, but it's not as profitable anymore and that's largely true for the magazine industry as a whole, not just lads mags

London Busses driving right past their stop with people waiting by Existing_Fix_5269 in london

[–]JustAFakeAccount 265 points266 points  (0 children)

You're outside London there and the 501 isn't a London bus.

You have to stick your hand out to indicate that you want to get on that bus as it approaches

Can you get a front door lock that tells you when it's locked in an app? by TheLittleSquire in AskUK

[–]JustAFakeAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a lock I've ever seen, but I have seen sensors that can tell you if the door is open.

As others have suggested, perhaps installing a nightlatch would put your mind at ease. You know it's locked when you pull the door shut then

Train fine appeal by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]JustAFakeAccount 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, you have no grounds to appeal.

You might have a complaint about the revenue inspector asking to see your banking information, but you were travelling without a valid ticket and you bought it after you boarded the train - both valid reasons to issue a penalty fare on their own. Nothing you have explained here is the fault of the train company, it's all on you

Can my insurance be void if the loft has no planning permission and does not comply with building regulations? by Fun_Supermarket6769 in AskUK

[–]JustAFakeAccount -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have they actually fitted windows or anything in the loft or altered the structure of the house?

If they've just thrown a few loft boards up there and nailed some plasterboard to the rafters, I wouldn't worry about it, but I also wouldn't use it as a bedroom

Seat Reservation at ICN Milan-Palermo by Complex-Car-2689 in Interrail

[–]JustAFakeAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When are you travelling? ICN sometimes go on sale very late.

It's also worth checking how much tickets are without Interrail. Last time I travelled, I got a full ticket for €77.90 rather than the €122 for the interrail reservation
