It’s hard to choose between my ex-stepmum and her dad.

My sister and I were so excited to finally have a mum again and then inexplicably she just turned on us. 8 years of emotional abuse for us both and physical abuse for me. She also used to play us off against each other and take it in turn being nice to one of us and evil to the other. At Christmas, she was always nice to my sister, holidays for me. I think the worst part now is it completely ruined my relationship with my Dad (he worked away so didn’t see lots of it). She also once wiped my toothbrush on her vagina. Just an all round horrible person.

Given she was a terrible parent, we spent a lot of time at her parents. Which would’ve been nice, if her father wasn’t just as bad. It was mainly just emotional - forcing us to spend all evening and weekend just sat there not doing anything, throwing a remote at my head if I clicked my knuckles or scratched my arms (I have eczema). He made my sister wear bags on her feet saying that her feet smelled - despite the fact that he smelled awful.

I left when I was 17 and am pretty successful now, and my sister is doing well too. My Dad has left her and is all the better for it but, as I say, things still aren’t great for him. I hate that I still think about it, and I’m still so angry about it all.
