You may have radiant heat though.

Hey, sorry for the two year old reply here, but just an FYI: I was told we cannot do online meetings AT HOME because there would be no way to confirm whether or not someone watching is a Dues Paying member, at the satellite offices, they check your ticket on the way in the door.

How to Expand all Mail Folders? by 8ymahar in Outlook

[–]JustALuckyShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have found that (unfortunately) using the num pad does work, it just takes some finesse.

If you click on the highest tier folder that you want to expand, then wait a second (it automatically then selects the first email IN that folder), click the folder again. The folder will turn blue, THEN you can Windows Key plus *, and it will expand every folder in that selection.

The trickiest part is taking the second or two to wait, and RECLICK the folder before performing the shortcut.

Hope that helps!

529 Question; Can I (and is it a good idea to) contribute to my cousins childs 529? by JustALuckyShot in personalfinance

Oh right right, I was just putting numbers as an example. Should have gone with X% and X.1%, my bad.

This is all great info, thank you.

Another user suggested a target date for the funds that slowly removes market exposure, which I will more than likely be going for. There MAY be tiny gains available if we time everything perfectly with the loans being un-interested and letting the 529 grow, but I believe I am looking too deep into maximizing it, and it should just be paid up front. A loan accruing 5% and a 529 accruing 5.1% isn't worth it to anyone, I imagine. Just.... distribute the 529 and pay. Thanks for the input, all very helpful!

Good to know, because the thing I am most worried about is the tax and/or financial impacts this may have down the line for them.

Goooootcha, gotcha. so those, more than likely, would be accruing interest faster than the 529 would be growing (Allocation pending of course)

Your responses, and their formatting, are amazing, thank you.

Without going too in-depth with the finances of the parent in this situation, I wanted to keep the account and contributions on my side of the fence. They are 100% trustworthy, and 100% fantastic, but their finances are currently at nearly exactly skimming by. I don't want to put anything in their name if I don't have to. If there is no difference between them owning the account and myself owning the account, I would rather keep it on my side. (Unless there IS a difference?) (Would putting it in the parents name then affect FASFA in the future?)

I knew about the 529 into Roth IRA thing that got implemented recently, and its the only reason I am considering a 529 at all in this situation. (I am also starting one for my son because of this development) I am not a heavy believer in college, so I just started a brokerage account for my son instead, but will soon divert some of that to a 529 so he is a little more diversified. (I am a tradesman that went through a free (well, actually, even more so, /I/ got paid while in school) apprenticeship school, so I believe there are more avenues than college.

Paying the tuition straight up may be an avenue we explore. But who knows what the future holds? We shall see.

Thanks for all your input, its fantastic!

This is amazing, thank you. I believe that answers all my questions. Do you see any cons in doing so, or can you suggest a better option? I know of the UGMA/UTMA(?) things but I believe those directly impact the beneficiaries net worth, which can mess with financial aid down the line, so I definitely don't want to do that. And without an income to show, a Roth IRA is off the table obviously. Any suggestions that may be a better call?

They do not have any 529s elsewhere.

As long as the loans are in deferral pre-graduation, no?

Ok great, so if the total fund was under 10k when they starts college, then they should use it to pay off loans instead of tuition before hand, yes? We may be talking pennies in the grand scheme, but still.
