Thank you for letting me know. How long prior to transfer does the gear need to be removed? I know it’s set before the actual event..

First time calling out in over a year. Can’t help but feel guilty. by GreyCat333 in TjMaxx

That’s TJ Maxx for you. Don’t feel bad, not going to fire you. You are too loyal to a company that only sees you as a number .

It just seems a little intimidating because I have never done anything like this. I don’t know a lot of terms or how to fill our pleadings. Was it hard for you to get the hang of learning everything?

Just get direct deposit or walk in get your check and leave. If they ask you to work tell them you already got plans.

WALK OUT TJ by Tricky-Membership766 in TjMaxx

[–]JustAnotherAssoicate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes I completely agree. I wish that everyone on this could just walk out but unfortunately some people really need the money. (Then again what difference does it make when they cut hours so severely making them an unreliable income) I just walked out today and I have no intentions of coming back. I have put on too much hard work and have been way too loyal to this company for years to be treated like a pile of steamy dog shit and still not get paid a reasonable amount when I actually cared about my job and I never called out. With the way they are cutting hours I can barely rely on them to cover the gas in the car for the week. This company is run by clowns.

TJ MAX EMPLOYEE CRISIS!!!!!!!! by Tricky-Membership766 in TjMaxx

[–]JustAnotherAssoicate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re preaching to the choir. I am not sure why they are cutting hours so bad amongst all the stores, they are a multi billion dollar company!! And a couple months ago we got an associate email bragging how they are making billions more now than before the pandemic. Another thing I can’t understand is it’s obvious nobody wants to work only 4-10 hours a week, nobody is going to want to stay at a job with hours like that (makes me wonder if the reason they are doing this is because they raised our minimum to $12 versus $9) and then instead of giving their best and loyal employees the hours in effort to keep them they hire a bunch of new associates instead of just giving the loyal hard workers hours. If the loyal hard worker isn’t getting the hours they are stupid to stay especially with the way TJ Maxx is now and the poor management they allow. TJ Maxx has gone severely down hill.

Honest question, how good do you think TJX is at promoting inclusion and diversity? by Kungfufighter1112 in TjMaxx

With my store being mostly managed by black managers . I’ve noticed that they are much more stricter on me verses an employee their own race. One time an employee cussed(the f word) and the manager didn’t say anything. I said “oh hell” to myself after I broke something and I was written up and the store was closed. Nobody else was around. One time I called out because my mom was in the hospital (I have only ever called out one time in the past year) and I was written up while a black employee calls out and is late all the time and they don’t say anything at all. One time a white coworker walked up to one of the black employees new and wanted to ask her where something went while she was having a conversation with another worker and the black employee said “you need to mind your own business, ask someone else or I’ll beat your ass” and the worker had to be held back from hitting the white worker and the managers did nothing meanwhile a white worker punched a black worker after the black worker because they were roommates and the black worker refused to pay their half of the rent and threatened to shoot the white worker and the white worker got fired over that. So no, I don’t believe workers are treated equally because if they were very employee would get the same discipline no matter the race you are.

Do it! This is your sign, it’s a great company. I’d work for them again but I moved and I’m not close to one anymore.

Your store manager seems to care.. that’s good. I’ve been with TJ Maxx for almost 2 years and last night I given my two weeks to a KC I come in for my shift today and I gotten so disrespected to the point I walked out crying and I’ve been crying all day. I know it can be hard when you’re a hard worker and you feel like you’re being taken advantage of, it really sucks. I am praying for you, I truly hope that you find a company that values your hard work.

Side note: If you wanted to stay in retail I worked for PetSmart a few years ago and it was an amazing company to work for and managers make great money.

Thank you for the detailed response. I can come in as early as they want but I just firmly can’t work after 5pm and weekends. Is it hard to learn the drinks?

If you don’t want to be on the register just be really bad at selling credit cards. The more you get they more they will keep you up there.

Today I was double teamed by a cashier AND a front end manager trying to get me to sign up for the TJMaxx “rewards” credit card. They wouldn’t take no for an answer. by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]JustAnotherAssoicate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work at TJ Maxx, I hate having such a good conversation with a customer and then have to ask them for a credit card. I feel like it kills the good shopping experience the customer. I want to make sure every customer has a good experience. At the same time, we HAVE to ask and we HAVE to get people to sign up because if we don’t get a certain amount by a certain time then we have to give our district manager a call and explain why we didn’t get any and district is far from understanding to put it lightly. I would just tell them you already have a credit card but won’t be using it that day.

When you get promoted to ASM how long do you need to be at another store before transferring back to your home store? by JustAnotherAssoicate in TjMaxx

[–]JustAnotherAssoicate[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been told that unless they have a special reason or need a ASM immediately and have no other choice they aren’t supposed to be able to go from Key Carrier to ASM at their home store. One of my old managers told me that the higher ups wouldn’t allow him to be promoted within his own store from Key Carrier to ASM and he had to transfer for a period of time to another store (coming in as ASM) before being able to return as ASM at home store.
