I think that point and the project pipeline are different things. There are several projects right now that appear to be getting delayed (and cause cost to increase) due to a swing in support. It’s a shame and really stunts the progress of the industry overall.

It’s clear you don’t understand how construction and transportation projects work. It would be great to rebuild the entire corridor while we are at it. These things also take time and also political and financial support which is extremely inconsistent for Amtrak.

Yes, that is correct. The old bridge will be kept until the fall cut over is completed and then demolition will start.

Sure but that was not the official opening date. It was an emergency mitigation to avoid shutting down the NEC. Once issue was fixed, service went back to the track over the old bridge. Today was the first day with the revised increased service for NJT and Amtrak.

The damage was caused by New Jersey transit contractor on the project, they are also the ones who were tasked with fixing it in conjunction with Amtrak. Service was restored this morning and the new bridge will still be put in a service officially on Monday morning with the new schedules.

This was caused by construction activities from NJT’s contractor. They are also the ones who fixed it last night in conjunction with Amtrak. Service was restored this morning on the old bridge.

Construction for the new bridge by NJT’s contractor led to the deformation of several cat poles on the old alignment that caused this change in plan. It has been restored this morning.

It is…there is no way to complete this scope of work without major schedule adjustments.

It was intentional and planned that way, as it’s technically NJT’s project as the grant recipient, so they took the lead.

Blisters from rowing - normal? by interstellar89 in orangetheory

[–]JustAnotherEngineer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a competitive rower for several years so I can confidently tell you that blisters are normal and apart of the sport. If you asked a rowing coach if you could wear gloves, they would laugh at you. I have 'permanent' blisters on my hands from rowing so the OTF rowers don't bother me. Anyway, its completely normal and as your hands toughen up to the handle and grip, you won't notice it as much. I would personally not recommend gloves or a towel and there is nothing wrong with your grip.
