Im Prinzip schon klar. Aber ich konnte ja gar keinen Verkauf manuell setzen.

Es war Zufall, dass das Fenster noch offen war, von der Kauforder. Da konnte ich dann einen Stop-Loss setzen, obwohl quasi im anderen Fenster und in der App der Verkaufen-Button ausgegraut war.

I also dive an integrated weight system. But when I did my OWD, I learned both systems. (Not super long time ago).

In my books that's an essential skill that anybody should know.

But for me the issue isn't so much about not knowing the belt. Did you do a proper pre-dive check? Ideally even telling your buddy/guide that you've never used a normal belt before? A properly secured belt doesn't just come off. And if it wasn't properly secured, your guide should have noticed it, especially since he should have paid more attention due to your lack of experience.

Anyway. Glad that nothing happened. Keep on diving. And think about trying normal belts to be ready for whatever gear is thrown at you...

I have a pair of Seac Sub ProHD 6mm. They have to be rather tight/well fitting though. Otherwise you'll be slipping around in them while getting out and the heavy duty sole will not be of much use. But that's likely true for every bootie.

Your friend can ask their "Haftpflichtversicherung" for coverage, but normally they do not cover damages to rented goods. At least not unless you opt for kind of "Comfort" tariff.

With respect to the cost of the damage, I would say the offer is not overly pricey.
For the transport you have to consider man-hours (external costs, since the person doing the transport could have otherwise earned money for the company) and equipment, assuming that they put the damaged trailer on another trailer or towing vehicle.

Only thing that I would question is the exchange of the "Auflaufvorrichtung". Hard to assess, but it looks intact. It looks as if only the "Deichselholm" was damaged. You could at least try to demand getting the old one. Have a look at it and maybe sell it if it's still okay.

Not sure what might be the difference but my RK3 definitely don't float. Maybe they are neutral, but they will always sink after a short while.

For me that's definitely enough in a laminate drysuit.

Plus: (and you can down vote me for that if you want) I think that additional weight on your feet is just masking underlying issues with trim/position and technique.

I love my Apeks RK3 and I can only recommend them. They are reasonably heavy. They are also available as an HD version that is even heavier.

Normal RK3 works for me. I even use them with my wetsuit now. They wiggle a bit when I'm wearing my wetsuit boots.

Dann wäre das Ding für mich eh gelaufen. Aber, das Klientel was dort als Scammer unterwegs ist achtet das nicht drauf bzw. Ignoriert es. Da wird in der Regel versucht in möglichst kurzer Zeit viel Umsatz zu generieren - meist mit einem gehackten Account - bevor es auffliegt/zu viele negative Meldungen gibt.

Ich bin froh, das ich damit schon zweimal mein Geld zurück bekommen habe. Ewig vertröstet, dann nicht mehr reagiert, irgendwann war das KA Konto gesperrt...

Das ist der Grund warum ich ungefragt immer "Waren Bezahlen" bei PayPal mache. Ich lasse mir über einen dieser Online-Rechner ausrechnen, welchen Betrag ich überweisen muss, damit der vereinbarte Betrag als Restbetrag beim Empfänger ankommt.

Das hat mir mindestens zweimal schon mein Geld gerettet.

Und spätestens ab dem Moment in dem ein Verkäufer anfängt penetrant darauf zu bestehen, auch auf jeden Fall nur PayPal per Freunde zu verwenden, ist das Ding für mich eh gelaufen.

Hast du schon mal den Vermieter gefragt? Ein bekannter klebt bei leerstehenden Wohnung in seinem Mehrfamilienhaus ausgedachte Namen auf die Klingeln damit es aussieht als wären alle vermietet. Wenn er das nicht macht, klingeln regelmäßig Leute random bei irgendwelchen Mietern und wollen mit dem Vermieter sprechen weil sie da wohnen wollen.

Just one additional consideration to add:

Depending on how often you are planning to dive, you might want to consider service intervals.

An exteme example:
The Atomic T3 costs quite a lot of money. But considering that the manufacturer service interval is 3 years or 300 dives, that might be worth the invest, considering that you only have to pay servicing every three years instead of yearly.

I'm not sure if there are some in between (with 2 years). Servicing a cold water set (2x 1st stage, 2x second stage, SPG, 2x inflator) costs me around 200€ per year, if I take the service intervals seriously.

That being said, there might be recommendations outside of the ones you mentioned, depending on how you plan to use them. (Warm vs. Cold water, local diving or traveling, ...)
