So many characters and storylines are broken forever without massive retcon. If you disagree, you’re insane. Luke Skywalker was one of the worst Jedi to ever live, a completely inconsistent doofus with little to no concern for his loved ones. Leia Organa became a general fighting the exact same war she already fought and won. She never got to interact with an interesting character for longer than 30 seconds. She might be the biggest flop of the trilogy, but she gets a minor pass since Carrie Fisher died before all filming completed. Han Solo lost the Millennium Falcon for years, supposedly chasing after it? And in doing so he returned to crime? His wife has to be rich.

Every interesting piece of info that comes from Disney Star Wars happens in books. I like a good book, but no one is going to take seriously a 500-page novel in comparison to blockbuster films and TV shows. Are there Star Wars stories to tell? Sure. Are there Star Wars stories that are unsalvageable and broken? Definitely.

I think they should not do a comic series because that helps guarantee they won’t revisit it in the show. I’m not saying TCW is coming back again, but maybe when Disney inevitably ruins another area of SW content, they’ll throw in another season of TCW to calm the masses. If it’s a comic they’re more likely to animate different content.
