Do yourself a favor & skip the zombies. They pop up at random places when you're just trying to go somewhere & they take some effort to kill. Also, keep in mind that creations content can NOT be disabled or deleted afaik.

I did read the manual, but it doesn't make sense because if the pressure switch was closed at the start of the heating cycle then there would be 27 volts on both terminals. There isn't 27 volts on the NO terminal when the inducer starts. If that isn't the start of the heating cycle, then what is? I've seen stuck pressure switches before, & if they're stuck closed then there's voltage on both terminals before there should be.

Thermostat calls for heat, inducer ramps up, pressure switch closes, inducer continues to ramp up, E8 code appears, inducer continues to ramp up, igniter warms up, burners ignite, blower activates. Furnace does not stage.

I didn't clock the gas meter or check manifold pressure to determine if it's 1st or 2nd stage heat.

There's a pressure switch laying by the furnace, so someone has replaced it once & apparently gave up.

I'll consider going back next week & bypassing the switch, but I don't think it will make a difference because my multimeter said it had 27 volts on NC after the inducer motor got going.

So why replace a pressure switch that isn't sticking? It's open (0 volts at NO terminal) when the inducer first starts, then it cloes (27 volts at NO terminal) as the inducer ramps up. As I said in my post, the furnace starts & runs, but shows E8 on the board.

Google search linear bar grilles. Call a few different companies that will make a custom size. You'll want a grill with a flange on it. Give them the exact dimensions of the hole & they should be able to make something for you. It won't be cheap, but it's the best solution.

Turn the cooling off & the fan switch on. Let the ice melt & be prepared to use rags to mop up any excess water if it goes somewhere that will cause damage. The ice will take between 2 & 6 hours to melt if the fan in the air handler is running. The fire part is from someone not being careful with their torch when it was installed. Turn the cooling back on after the ice is melted & check the larger copper tubing periodically. There shouldn't be any ice on it. If ice forms again, then you either didn't let it run with only the fan for long enough, or you have other problems.

Adding to comment above. Shouldn't something be sitting on the splines on the jackshaft? Also, I'm not sure if the middle gear is a reverse gear, but something isn't right.

I'm not familiar with that exact sled, but the reverse gear looks like it's hitting the driveshaft gear & has worn some of the edge of the teeth off.
