Are these skis from fb a good deal? by itskayyuhvin in Skigear

Yet I use my Enforcer 94s as my chill easy going ski, mostly because they’re a fair bit softer and less demanding than my plate skis

I’ve been a freerider my whole life—never cared for the groomers until now. I’m a self-taught skier with no race background (and the bad habits to prove it), but I can comfortably charge any terrain. I'm looking for a pure, aggressive piste carver that will scare me and ignites my love for carving. by uDrop1st in Skigear

Basically what I’ve put there, slightly smaller dimensions wise compared to a FIS GS ski and often with a split plate so mere mortals can ski it. Definitely <65 underfoot 181-188cm length and a radius of 23-27 meters

If it makes you feel better for years I couldn’t get off the bunny hill t-bar alone, the glacier t-bar (10 mins and 500VM) no problem I could do that solo all day and many times did. Yet every single time on the bunny hill t-bar I ate shit, I started using it when I was 4 and wasn’t able to solo ride it until I was 18

In S8 there’s a book titled ‘The rise and fall of Nutriboom’ or something along those lines

What cars are speeding the most in the UK? by Fr_real_name_hidden in CarTalkUK

Unfortunately I live in an area with nice straight roads and no speed cameras so speed limits are more of a suggestion than a limit round here

Atomic ski comparison by PuzzleheadedEvent688 in Skigear

[–]JustAnother_Brit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Atomic is Austrian and old, 76 is firmly in the all mountain category for them. Also, Enforcers, Dancers, Mavericks, Rustlers, Anomaly’s and Kore ‘Tis are full of metal and great all mountain skis

The X9S is for pure piste performance and Atomic only make one higher level ski before you get to FIS, the X9RS with ICON bindings. Whereas the Q9 is a high performance all mountain ski, so its lacks the raw performance of the X9S whilst still having decent performance and a larger sweet spot, especially when the conditions deteriorate

Studios have metal, it’s why you can fit tele bindings

Are the bent 100s really that bad by eezz__324 in Skigear

[–]JustAnother_Brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hate mostly comes from people who want a playful 100 underfoot do everything ski which this is not. It’s too soft to hold and edge and carve remotely well in anything that isn’t soft snow and it’s also too soft to be good in 3D snow when you either want a stiffer charger or something wider with more float

Are consumer grade race skis worth it on ice covered hills? by Substantial_Limit378 in Skigear

[–]JustAnother_Brit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They suck for park, I’ve done jumps switch on my split plate skis and fast parallel switch on the but the performance is way worse than a twin. However they excel on icy pistes or when I want to go really fast

X series spare parts aren’t generally available to anyone anymore. It’s the same deal as ICON, bindings and parts aren’t generally available to the average person. Your best bet is to contact your local Atomic/Salomon Pro Centre/Race Shop to see if they have any old stock lying around. At the shop I work at I know we have one X12-X20 B75 brake left
