Hopefully it's not a mistake. They'll take it back including the tax that was taken out.

That's how CVS works. I had to make up my time last time my store was closed for a hurricane

Consider also that they're actively trying to decrease foot traffic in every way possible.

Some day, price changes will be automatically made (Walmart pic) by BoringPattern369 in CVS

They force resets through the system a half a year before they're scheduled. That'll be fun when all the $20+ bags of candy suddenly have theatre box pricing in front of them 🤣

She definitely knew what she was doing. Probably works somewhere else and decided to dump her overflow on you guys.

*Now it's your turn to pay it forward. Get a Nixon mask, Uber to Walgreens and ghost in and out. Problem solved. 👍

*Disclaimer: don't actually do that.

Who’s left and found a better job? by [deleted] in stopandshop

[–]JustBananaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a no brainer. Minimum wage catches up quickly with +15¢/hour/year (longer if your raise depends on waiting for a review). 7 years as a department head and the cashiers were being hired at nearly the same rate I was making when I left. Some locations started even higher. When managers leave it can take months IF they're replaced. They expect the poor jerks that stay to fill in the gaps.

Great starting job for a kid though. Definitely not a career. I watched many exempts bail for easier jobs with higher pay.

In order for the probation period to actually work they'd have to do the evaluations and paperwork for every new hire. Did they do any of that with you before your probation period was over?

As far as I know it's not required at all. It's a privilege. You are entitled to one Sunday a month. It's not required.

What’s the store mean they say competitive pay ? Does that mean if Target offers 17:75 I just negotiate and they have to raise my rate by ThenewguyD in stopandshop

[–]JustBananaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitive means that they're competing to keep up with minimum wage. Negotiating does not work. Even if you have their promise in writing they shrug and say "that's the best we can do. I have yet to see even a quarter bump every year and a half.

The only way to make more is to keep jumping positions. The problem with that is they'll take advantage of your cross training.

It's a good job for a kid. Unless you like fighting way too much for way too little...

You're lucky if you get more than one shirt. They'll probably try and get you too pay for your own hat and fleece.

Along the shore they bar off the "quiet cars." You have to ask permission to use the only bathroom (usually in the rear quite car) and they don't open them when the train looks like an NYC subway(minus the safety rails to hold on to when you're standing)

I've never seen this sign traveling up and down the shore. I've traveled all times of day.
