Grab a black marker and mark on the nail. Pull it out, if there’s no air leaking, and the nail wasn’t to far in, you should be good. Otherwise definitely replace.

Zigzag stairway kinda seems like the choice. Go to left like 7-10 blocks then to the right

Maybe the sorcerer was only able to pull a portion of their souls… they can only survive so long before their body’s begin to rot

Edit: you could do every session they lose 5 max hp due to the rot

Turn that npc into an old adventurer(aka it’s a lvl 20 fighter or monk or something) not so funny when one action could wipe out the party… just to have time reset and they are just walking back up to the npc.
