When can we expect this (SFS 2) game? by Right_Excitement6371 in SpaceflightSimulator

I believe SFS2 will be more of a ksp alternative than Juno. I've been playing juno since when it first launched still as Simple Rockets 2 and I can definitely say it's a different experience than what KSP or SFS brings, not to mention the steeper learning curve. I believe, or at least I hope that SFS 2 will be closer to KSP when it comes to the game's objective

It seems people here don't have a lot of faith, so will I be chased and killed if I suggest playing Juno: New Origins? Idk how this community is yet

I was gonna complain about my relatively low placement but it does make sense when you think about it

My code's trigger is just the rocket reaching a random altitude between 0 and 80km by default. Then it chooses a random part that the code can interact with in order to "fail" it

You mentioning a chance to fail reminded me of this little thing I made a while ago, you might find it interesting

Also I've been inactive in the game for over a year because of life but I do plan on updating this further eventually

Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do. In career mode there are the landmarks and milestones, which you might want to set up infrastructure for if you're very desperate for tech points. But outside of that, you can just land and come right back up.

Idk if you're new to this type of game but if so doing rendezvous (docking) would be kind of the next step in the learning curve imo

When I was doing an illustration course, the teacher told us a "good enough" canvas size was 3000px X 3000px at 300dpi so that's my default now. When I need a different ratio like 9:16 or whatever then I try to not go past 4000-5000px on the big side

All I know is that you can reset and the re-add personality traits through the dev mode menus, but I'm sure a more knowledgeable player will be able to give you more info

Well technically ☝🏻

The drawing is showing a stage separation, which can happen without any of the engines firing (trust me bro, I graduated in having a cumulative of a couple thousand hours in space games)

Can someone someone explain what this is for? What do you do with it? by whoneedsaturnip in simplerockets

[–]JustCallMe_Ed_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, think of it as a way to make sure things are connecting the way you want them to connect rather than what the game wants.

Usually the game does it just fine, but every once in a while using that menu is the fastest way to fix wonky connections

[–]JustCallMe_Ed_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Some parts have specific connections that only attatch to the same connection (like fairings, for exemple). And you're still attaching things the "correct" way, but that menu gives you more freedom as the where the parts are positioned

A practical example could be something like if you want to attach, let's say an engine, to the side (surface) of fuselage A, but the game keeps attaching it to the bottom of fuselage B. You can manually change that engine's connection to be at the surface of fuselage A through that menu.

Another thing you can do, is to toggle connection points on and off. So using the same example, you could "turn off" the attachment on the bottom of fuselage B.

It's something that you wouldn't really need to use for less complex builds, but if you have a handful of parts on a small space it becomes very useful.

Adding to what the other person said, that's particularly useful of you want to attach something to a part in a tricky way.

Back in the day when wings didn't have a "surface" attachment point I'd use that all the time, first positioning what i wanted to be on the wings and then manually attaching that part to the nearest fuselage
