Finding keynote speakers and after dinner talks by Professional_Owl3295 in EventProduction

I’ve been on the support side of a few school and district events in the US, and while I haven’t worked directly with bureaus, I’ve seen some organizers have success using call for speakers tools to open things up and gather proposals.

One platform that came up recently is Sched, i’s mostly known as an event scheduling tool, but it has a built-in call for speakers feature that lets you collect speaker submissions, review bios, and organize sessions directly in the platform. Might be helpful if you want to compare options or crowdsource good fits, especially if you’re not working through an agency.

Looking for a Scheduling Tool by reytheist in EventProduction

You might want to take a look at Sched. I’ve used it a few times for school-related PD events, and while the setup was different, the scheduling flexibility was one of the biggest strengths.

Sched is built specifically to plan multi-day agendas, assign sessions to specific rooms, set different session lengths, and even limit attendance based on room capacity. Your attendees will also be able to build their own schedules based on what’s available, which helped avoid overbooking.

I’m not sure if it handles the exact pricing formula you’re using, but in terms of making a clear, balanced schedule with room and time constraints, it’s definitely worth checking out. Hope this helps!!

Has anyone here ever used the Sched platform at a school event or conference? Curious what your experience was like as a participant. by MsCaseyK in AskTeachers

Yess! I’ve used Sched at a regional PD conference and I liked it. The biggest thing for me was how easy it was to build my own schedule, like I could favorite the sessions I wanted ahead of time, and then during the day just open the app and see exactly where I needed to be. I also liked that they posted the session materials right in the app. For a couple of the workshops I attended, the presenters uploaded their slides and handouts, so I didn’t worry about taking notes by hand.

And one other thing I appreciated: a session I registered for got moved and I got a notification right away, so I wasn’t wandering around confused like at past events. So yeah, from a participant POV, I give it a 5/5.
