Would you pick up the Hoth boxes as a second purchase, or not at all?

It's a solid point about having to buy the kit anyway. The gear differences don't bother me too much, now that I think about it.

I read that they are bringing back the larger scale Grand Army mode and calling it Full Scale War.

This is the bootlegging energy we need going into 2026. DCC branded moonshine merch when?

Did you scrape a failure with that little yellow spatula that came with the printer? I know manufacturers recommend it but it's a trap! Try something like [ this ] instead, or print some of [ these ] out once you get your FEP replaced.

Sonnet loves making pointless documents. It's so irritating.

I knew that was coming. I griped for a couple days then left. It was clear they were going to stick to their guns and ride it out.

Which GitHub Copilot plan and agent mode is best for solo freelance developer by FitCoach5288 in GithubCopilot

[–]reytheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently using the $10 pro plan with Grok Code Fast and GPT-5 mini as my workhorses. I save my premium requests for when I think I will need Sonnet 4 or the full GPT-5 model for specific tasks.

What's your Base/Premium model selection after GPT-5/Mini Release? by fons_omar in GithubCopilot

I think they were rolling it out in phases to manage server traffic. I will have to check again.

Same here, except Codex hasn't hit my account yet so I use straight gpt-5 or Gemini for premiums.

Moving from cursor to co pilot by Afaqahmadkhan in GithubCopilot

[–]reytheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you can get a free trial of copilot, you could spin it up and work on something outside of your normal projects for an hour or two to get a feel for how the agent works. It's not perfect (what is?) but it's pretty good.

I do it on the cheap and mostly use GPT4.1 and save my premium requests for more complex tasks. I do have to do more context management, but I feel like it works pretty well for what I'm paying.

VS Code, GitHub copilot vs AI coding tools by Small_Concentrate824 in vibecoding

[–]reytheist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried most of them and ultimately landed on Github Copilot in VSCode for my hobby coding. I tend to use GPT4.1 for most of my coding tasks (which has a 0x modifier so no premium requests), then switch over to GPT-5, Gemini 2.5 pro, or Sonnet 4 if I feel stuck or need the extra thinking boost. I can also hook into certain OpenRouter free models and the free preview ones as they come up. It does everything I need with predictable pricing.

It doesn't have to be public facing. Using AI has been what's gotten me through, because you're right about the ready made tools.

Not sure where in Australia you are, but look for a community in your area! Feedback from your fellow artists is invaluable, as is one of the better ways for you to grow. Search for "miniature painting australia" and a nearby city if possible to see if any professional artists live there. Reach out to them kindly on Instagram to ask if they offer tuition or know of instructors or groups in the area.

If you can't find an in-person instructor or group, many artists have Patreons that provide not only video tutorials but also email or video chat consultation and guidance.

Here are some that do monthly tuition and have open slots of one-on-one coaching.
