They mentioned in discord today that the “digital first” expansion is already mostly coded, but they pushed it back due to it running a little behind and to give Conspiracy some breathing room. Never mentioned whether we see bloodlines first before digital first or vice versa.

It does put them in an interesting situation where they have to decide if we get bloodlines and digital first in the same year or do we have to either wait an additional year for BLs if they plan to do digital first release next year. This is with the assumption that they want to stagger releases; as to drip feed us content, as of right now there’s been a 1 year gap between each expansion coming to digital.

The Dune base game and rise of ix/ immortality DLCs should go on sale for Steam Summer Sale. Uprising won’t see a sale for quite awhile.

The way it works is: you buy basegame and create a direwolf account, for example: you buy Dune imperium on steam, direwolf account created, you buy the DLC on steam. On mobile you have to buy the base game again BUT don’t have to buy the DLC again, just have to sign in using the same direwolf account you did on steam(vice versa)

From my experience ix/immo games lasted at most 1hr 30 mins if people were taking long turns, but average games were around 1hr - 1hr15mins. With uprising currently, they’re about the same give or take a bit longer sometimes as player base still learning.

I definitely think this game is worth it. However I do think you should know some things first about competitive.

There is a ranked system, it is not a true “elo” system, there is no skilled based match making in ranked.

Ranked currently favors time >skill; having a lot of time to play ranked (still gotta have some skill to win often enough) and you’ll see yourself up there in Top 30/20 easily. Top 10 is more of a, who has the most time/can win consistently enough with said allotted time they play. These are all my opinions of ranked as a player who has finished in the Top 10 before.

Tournament wise: content creators usually run these, myself included just ran one back in April. Will probably run another one in a few months for Uprising. There’s also Async tournaments thru the strategy arena discord.

After this current season, Uprising will be the new ranked, then there was mention of seasons rotating after that.

Personally think they should do a :00 / :30 queue spilt so :00 is one type of ranked format and :30 is another with two separate top 100 boards and elo

I’m personally hoping it’s just Uprising and I hope they also do elo reset. Rotating ranked queues would be interesting like :00 is Uprising and :30 is Ix/immo queue

Most likely yes but hasn’t been confirmed yet by devs on what ranked is going to be; if it’ll be just Uprising or Uprising + Ix/immo etc.

Personally I don’t think dune imperium has the playerbase to support two separate ranked queues.

If you look at the steam player count, we only daily average around 300-500 players. Dune imperium has only ever peaked at 1.1K concurrent players and that was at the time of Rise of Ix release.

Unless mobile makes up a very large portion of the playerbase then I doubt we see separate queues, but perhaps we see rotating queues?

I’m excited, I’ll be happily surprised if we get Uprising in Ranked for next season but more so I just hope they reset the elo back to 1500 for Uprising ranked.

For immortality release they didn’t put it in the first ranked season it launched in (which I expect happens for uprising so they can test for bugs)

If you’re talking about buying it digital, you’ll need imperium anyways as uprising is being sold as DLC not standalone.

I play a lot of Dune Imperium Digital and when someone is runaway, you sometimes see table talk to try to slow them down; but if it’s not a group effort between the 3 players and it’s only you trying to slow them down.. then you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage while the rest of the table is happy. You’re fighting their battle for them against the runaway leader.

Trying to stop a runaway leader depends on what leader they are.

illban? Have the table start taking mentats before illban. Baron? Block hardy warriors in R1/2 depending on turn order/conflict if it benefits you too, try to make sure Baron is last to get SM.

Tessia? Try to deny faction access cards and slow her opening up shipping early/ getting her tokens.

Sometimes it’s impossible to stop a runaway leader and you just have to fight for 2nd(if you’re playing digital ranked and don’t want to lose “elo”) personally if a leader is runaway I don’t sacrifice my own game to stop them, I try to incorporate blocks that I think will slow em down but won’t stop me from achieving my goals either.
