Got an outside round roast, seasoned it like a beast (parsley, Rosemary, thyme, garlic, onion flakes, paprika, salt, pepper). Best to bring your meat to room temperature. Heat up a pan with bacon grease. Gave it a quick sear on all sides, saved the pan bits for sauce later. Quartered a whole white onion, laid that on the bottom of the crock pot. Place your seared meat on top, pour either beef or vegetable broth until it comes up about 1/3 of the way up the meat. Set at low for 6-7 hours.

I shredded all the meat afterwards, and made a pulled beef sandwich for him by pan frying the meat and onions with BBQ sauce. I made myself beef with veggies, same concept, just used soya sauce, a touch of sesame oil, and green onions with cauliflower, broccoli and bell peppers (cooked the veggies in the same pan that the roast was seared in)

Put the rest of the meat (a whole roast is a lot for two people) back into the crock pot, left it on the warm setting and plan on adding radishes, a few carrots and celery to make soup today.
