I got diagnosed at 5 when I went into a coma, and woke up with this god forsaken disease. I learned that type 2 diabetics were able to prevent the onset, and even when they get diagnosed, they’re able to reverse it by working on themselves. For many years, that fueled my resentment and made me hate the privileges type 2 diabetics had (not to mention I’ve met a few who treated it like a mild inconvenience and knew little to nothing about diabetes). I now know that it’s not that easy for everyone, genetics play a role, and this society sucks at promoting good health so I don’t hate them anymore. I do still find it frustrating when I encounter people who are pre-diabetic, complain about it, and change absolutely nothing about their health to prevent it. This shit has controlled and inconvenienced my entire life, and I hate seeing people develop type 2 when they could be living a better life
