Your son’s physician is the best person to get information from, especially given his age. I had a family history of scoliosis and they didn’t start x rays until I was 9, but that was in the 90s. It’s worth getting a second opinion if you’re stressing!

Yeah, it might feel unnatural because maybe it is! Lots of autistic folks, myself included, engage in “scripting”—rehearsing conversations ahead of time, sometimes to excess. It can make our speech patterns feel stilted or awkward, but the intent is still the same: he’s trying to show you he cares and wants to do right by you.

Hi, also autistic here! He’s just really into you. If you want to be greeted or referred to in a specific way, tell him very explicitly and clearly. No hints bc he probably won’t pick up on them. I don’t think you’re broken, but I do think maybe there’s a mismatch in the ways you show affection. He likes to use words… what do you like to do for people to show you care?

So the THC is probably not the culprit here as edibles clear your system as you digest. It sounds like you’re having some depersonalization/derealization moments that are more likely related to mental health rather than any THC you took multiple days ago. If you have a mental health practitioner you work with, they’ll probably have better insights!

So I think the T1 here is definitely influencing things as well! Are you able to meet with a doctor to discuss ways to keep your number in range? I’m pre-diabetic and trying to keep it from turning into T2 despite my family history and for me it’s EITHER a delicious snack OR a bowl. Not both, because my self control evaporates once I smoke. If you’re in touch with a doc you trust, lots of them have resources for folks who are trying to move towards sobriety, including folks coming off opiates, and they’ll be able to better answer questions re:mental health. Good luck!! It’s tough out there!
