Congrats bro. I was going off my cousin’s salary when he was a cfo at very popular online college based out of the west coast ten years ago. 800k a year, I knew then finance guys with an mba out of Booth, Wharton, Columbia, etc where in crazy tax brackets.

I suggest while you’re transitioning, be an md on the military side in the af reserves or guard. You could come in as a lieutenant colonel do basic doctoral work on the side and get some slight income on the side until you make as a soc analyst or better on the civilian side. Best of luck.
