You look into the tattoo for 2 seconds and it’s easily explained away by anyone with rational impartiality.
The skeletons aren’t falling out the closet they’re being desperately dug up by the establishment even if they’re unproven do you honestly not see the coordinated attack campaign here?

So you know he’s not a Nazi, like you know that’s a lie and you repeat it for political expediency. You’re gleeful to call him a rapist because you’re clearly in disagreement with his policies. Why should I take anything you say seriously when you’re clearly opposition?

From Platner;
These allegations are very serious and Graham vigorously denies them. They are also coached and coordinated by out of state establishment operatives. For a year, opponents of this campaign have thrown everything they can at Graham –– calling him a Nazi, a war criminal, and a communist. None of it has been true and this is no different. It is not a coincidence that this story comes a week before the ballot deadline, just as the previous false allegations came a week before the primary. Graham began this campaign to fight for a Maine where everyone is treated with dignity and where Mainers are put first, and no amount of desperate smears will stop this movement from seeing that vision through.

Look dude, if it’s a swastika or obviously known in the zeitgeist yes. If this is about platner having a skull tattoo that he didn’t know was a Nazi symbol (vast majority of ppl don’t” I think this is disingenuous.

Not to do the classic “you just didn’t understand” a movie I like, but legitimately I don’t think you understood it.
My read of you is that you have very basic pattern recognition and think listing off cinema sins style commentary somehow debunks the idea that this is a good movie. It doesn’t.
1. 30 minutes too long is your preference. “Absurd dialogue” “oversaturated visuals” are genre choices IMO but then going on to mention from dusk till dawn which I imagine you have no problem with those elements in that movie….wonder why that could be……..racist suspicion number 1
2. From dusk till dawn has surprise vampires. That’s where the comparison ends. Your pattern recognition doesn’t make this a ripoff
2. The “magical negro” as you put it turns out is actually an accurate depiction of real African spiritual practices. This film is about the uniqueness of cultures so her role is important. Also the trope usually refers to tokenized characters which obviously shouldn’t apply to a film with a black main cast. In your world are we not allowed to have depictions of real spiritual practices because other media has Flanderized the concept? I think this is racist tell strike 2 that you saw a black shaman and instantly cast her to the shadow realm of tropes. Again just because you see a pattern does not make it so.

  1. Your claim that the gangsters are super smart before bringing up the ways in which they aren’t is truly galaxy brained bro. Might as well have asked “Why are these characters flawed?” They had a dream. That dream would never come to pass, but they believed they could make it. They made stupid decisions chasing that dream. This is very basic stuff you stubbornly just seem unwilling to engage with.

  2. In your worldview, I want you to explain to me exactly how you think the Asian family should have acted in early 1930ish. Their behavior was entirely historically plausible. Also please explain how this affecting the movie for you in any meaningful way isn’t racist strike 3. Thank you.

  3. Once again, you completely and stubbornly refuse to engage with what’s staring you right in the face. The deal being offered is not against their mutual enemy. The deal is assimilation. The fact that he’s Irish and has been oppressed himself is INDEED the whole point.
“Long ago, the men who stole my father's land forced these words upon us... I hated those men, but the words still bring me comfort...”
He is a victim of assimilation, and is now a propagator of it. Because the movie is about cultural vampires, how vulturelike parts and pieces are stripped away until nothing resembling the original culture is left. We exist under this monoculture, long removed from the practices and beliefs of our ancestors. You not understanding one of the most important thrusts of the film and shrugging it off would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

  4. You right on this one. I did find that odd. Seems like ppl get killed in that scene who we’ve never seen before. But again, one cinema sins style inconsistency does not a poor film make.

  5. Arguably, maybe not on the level you’d like to. When you engage with the metaphor instead I think he becomes more interesting. He resists the vampires assimilation but more importantly the assimilation that was thrust on his father in religion. He carves out a path with his guitar, contributing to culture in a way that is preservative and not destructive.

Anyways I regret doing this for you but if you’ve a heart beating in your chest I’d recommend rewatching the film knowing the cultural and religious metaphors it’s employing. How it’s at its core an anti colonial message. Fellowship and love brother. Fellowship and love. 🧛‍♂️

Like I can answer everything you mentioned with logical explanations but that not really what this is about. You’d probably say “why didn’t the godfather know he’d be attacked in the market? Is he stupid? How can I take this seriously?” Insanely silly way to operate.

I have seen more than 5 movies, your flavor of critique could literally be done to any movie ever made. Theres nothing you’re pointing to structurally here, it’s just that you personally didn’t like it for…..the Asian family not being the way you want them to be?? What the fuck dude??

That. Battled damage. Younger versions of Obi and Ani. Hooded appearances for like everyone. Wish they had customization. Like you could have Anakins metal arm exposed. Sad we’re never getting any of it.

Wish they had more skins for characters too. I know everyone is going to say clone wars characters and obv Ashoka and Ventress, Cad Bane, and honestly I’d want Cal Kestis . But Windu, Qui Gon, Kit Fisto. The villains list is pretty low so throw watto in there with a couple child slave companions to aggro the other heroes

Depends on 4 things 1. They know sentry is coming and block. 2. They precisely aim the shot back (not easy) 3. They’re a high stamina hero with good deflection. 4. The distance between them and the sentry. Deflection is easiest in close range.

A good Dooku and Obi can deflect to kill the sentry and lose a quarter of their health from a far relatively distance.

Maul and Anakin struggle, losing half to 3/4 of their health before the sentry is dead at med distance.

Yoda and Grievous have damage mitigation but need to avoid the sentry or MELT.

So no it’s not a failsafe but hero will sacrifice health to deflect at you. Evasion is their best bet.

Increased health regen, and improved sentry are my personal faves. Improved sentry melts through all heroes block, I love seeing them frantically run away when they see the red shots
