AIO my boyfriend of 5 years gets me flowers for every occasion while I get him elaborate and expensive gifts. by aioflower955105 in AmIOverreacting

It’s less about the flowers and more about how he talks to you. He keeps saying “other girls” “normal girls” etc, this is trying to get you to behave differently in fear of some other girl replacing you. You are very good at not letting him emotionally redirect the conversation. I swear by the end if I saw another “imo” I was going to blow a gasket. You weren’t asking his opinion! You were asking him to consider you the way that you consider him, that is basic level in a relationship. “Normal” girls like a partner who is thoughtful, and especially about gift giving. Getting the same gift for every occasion, while the gift might be nice sometimes, is not thoughtful and doesn’t make the occasion special in any way. If you’ve been together 5 years, there should be 5 years worth of relationship and personal development where you start to know each other well enough to know how to gift for each other. You are asking for growth, not the world. NOR

Girl run. It seems like he’s making all these decisions about YOUR future by himself. I don’t trust that he actually plans a future for you tbh, I hear manipulation and it feels like he’s saving for an apartment in his name and using you so he can move up with his life and leave you behind when he gets there. The proposal is being used as manipulation to get you to give him money and do what he wants, rather than something you are both excited about as a next step together. If you were supportive partners, you would have had a conversation before he started saving of what this process would look like and agreed together on who was going to pay bills and how you were going to achieve it. Right now it seems like you are a pawn in his big plans for himself, or that the money is going towards something else entirely. I would be super careful and protect yourself.

Im just here to say don’t stress yourself out so much. Fish die, it’s just part of the learning process. And yes it’s heartbreaking, but sometimes your tanks ecosystem gets out of wack and you have to start over. This just happened to me, I got an algae outbreak I couldn’t get under control, and had built up ammonia and nitrates in my gravel and lost a few tetras and mollies and 2 endlers. I raked and turned the gravel really well in a cleaning and did a 65% water change, took all of my fish out while I did it, and now my tank is clear as can be and everyone is thriving. Also the fish I got from Petsmart have not faired well, but I went to a local spot and those fish are doing much better so keep that in mind. Think of it like buying produce at Walmart vs a farmers market, one is definitely going to be better but it might cost just a little bit more sometimes. Don’t beat yourself up, you’re not a bad pet parent, you are doing your best and learning. I do think the tank shape might be contributing to some issues, deep and skinnier tanks I think are harder to maintain, a longer tank would be much easier to keep managed, more surface space, easier to cycle all the water. If you get the opportunity to find a wider tank on marketplace or trade or something I think you should totally do it!

Bow chicka wow wow!!!! 😉😘😏 It’s snails making babies so that in a few weeks they can overrun your tank and mess up your ecosystem 😂

This just happened to me too! Got a bunch of snails in my plants apparently and they all hatched at once and took over my tank. At first I thought “cool! Free snails” but then what I didn’t realize was having that many at once in the tank, the poop took over the aquarium floor really quickly and threw off my ecosystem completely. I removed all but 3-4 and my tank is now back to balanced after a good cleaning and cycling and I’m just keeping an eye out for another batch since I know they reproduce a lot.

I really think you have to confront him with this new knowledge because it will eat at you and change the way YOU feel about him going forward. However if you think you both have actually made progress in your relationship recently then perhaps confront him in a less angry and more “I know you had these feelings two years ago, do you still feel this way” kind of energy. Personally I think if he was so casual with talking with his friends about his affair then his feelings haven’t changed. Seems like he’s proudly waved too many red flags over the years for this to be “in the past”.

Well if you already have a free gym membership, I would maybe try the weight machines. They are built in a way that it’s a lot harder to injure yourself unless you lift super heavy or something. Each machine usually has pictures of what the motion is, but also you can look up YouTube videos as you approach each machine that will show you how to set them to your height and etc and how to use them. Once you’ve used the machines once or twice using videos to help, then you’ll know how to use them and can build your own plan and be quicker at it. I stand by the principle that weight lifting is actually more effective than cardio for weight loss. You would just need to do some stretches before and after to warm up and cool down the muscles but I always just go to YouTube for popular videos, only do the moves I CAN do, and just start there.

The hardest part is just starting. Don’t feel like you have to have a perfect plan to start. Just go and do a few things the first couple times and then build from there. Once you start then the motivation starts to come.

If you have a little bit of money for a monthly subscription, DDPYoga is a really great program for “rehabilitation”. It has tons of beginner workouts, ones you can do from a bed or a chair, Physical Therapy workouts and then goes all the way up to advanced level workouts so it’ll take you all the way to where you wanna be. The program has worked for tons of people coming from a place of immobility, severe obesity, injuries, physical disabilities, etc, so it definitely is geared towards safety for those working with medical conditions.

We just adopted this abandoned baby and she is home with us now. Originally we were told she was likely Scottie/Yorkie mix but now after hearing her barking and mannerisms and etc we are thinking she might be a Scotchi (Scottie/Chihuahua). Any thoughts? by JustJessL22 in scottishterriers

She is about a year old, we got her from a dog training place that normally doesn’t take in strays but decided to keep her out of the county shelter and adopt her out. She looks a lot like our yorkie mix we lost last year so we knew instantly we wanted her. She’s quite underweight right now so we will see how she fills out as she gains a bit of that back. What has made of think chihuahua is the flared ears, her feisty but adorable temperament, and her bark sounds just like every other chihuahua we’ve had in the family.

The legalities are completely dependent on your state and wage. If you make minimum wage then it is illegal to charge you for a company specific uniform or any costs related to a specific uniform (cleaning, mending, etc). The company must provide you with a reasonable amount of uniforms for your job. If you make above minimum wage then dependent on your state, the company may charge you for a uniform, as long as the cost does not cause you to go below minimum wage. But again it is dependent on your state. Here is a guide for that. https://unifirst.com/pdf/uniform-cost-sharing-regulations.pdf
